Defending set pieces is key today. We have been shocking at it and Arsenal probably the best in the league currently in an attacking sense. Not sure Nuno can magic a change here in a couple of weeks. I can see Arsenal grabbing a couple from them.  It would help if we had a keeper that dominated his box instead of standing on his line the whole time. Areola is the worst at coming for crosses and I would assume he will be starting.
Wouldn't put is past us to score a goal but I imagine we will be counter attacking and won't have much of the ball or create many chances.

Also against Sunderland. Started 4 of the last 6 Prem games and been taken off each time due to being shit. 0 goals, 0 assists so far for the season.

Bit harsh that,  3 of those starts were for Potter's shambolic team.  Had a disallowed goal against Chelsea.   He did OK against Everton,  if he can stay fit he will get goals.

Not harsh at all. He's produced dick all after playing 324 minutes of football this season. This aint even a rookie getting to grips with the game, he's supposed to be a seasoned quality International Striker and yet time and time again struggles when playing against Premier League opposition.

Just 3 goals in 26 WHU apps and even 1 of them goals came against the utterly woeful relegated Leicester!
Didn't they have a great keeper though......

A real surprise if we get anything from this game, apart from embarrassment and a few snide comments from Arsenal fans.
however, I live in hope and I love surprises.

Whilst we have beaten Arsenal away in the last two seasons, I think it will be too much of a stretch to complete a hat trick of consecutive away wins there today.

I'd take another draw, however I think the 2-0 prediction in the OP will be accurate sadly.

I don't predict line ups, I leave that to the geeks and anoraks on here.

Fullkrug was better against Everton than in recent games he has played. Won some duels in the air against two very physical centre backs, got in the box on another day could have had a couple goals, and IMO got better as the match element on.

That he got 90mins was frankly a positive too...when did he last do that?

We have to remember he's really not had much time to adapt to the pace and physicality of the league, which is even harder for an older player than a youngster like Magassa.

Maybe he'll stay ineffective....but maybe he'll come good. He's got the personality to become a cult hero if he can get on the end of a couple of Diouf crosses in the next few games.

Until January, he's likely the nest we have, so worth supporting until then.

At Everton, Fullkrug's passing in and around the box was poor.

Tough one today.

Still, if he puts out a similar team and bench as he did on Monday, I'll be pleased.

Free hit today, but sorry, 3-0.

I don't know if it's the league, I think it's the team. If Fullkrug played for Chelsea he'd be the top scorer in the league.

In the Premier League, by a country mile. Fullkrug could never do Wilsons numbers down the years at this regular pace of the game. His numbers in the Bundesliga aint even as good as Wilsons in the Premier League.

He will play Fullkrug from the start and as long as possible Imo. He is the closest to a Chris Wood style target man we’ve got and he seemed plessed with Fullkrug’s contributions at Everton. Its the headers on or back to Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville I think he sees as key to his fast countering tactic and relieving pressure ?  Personally I too am underwhelmed by Fullkrug as a striker in the Prem Lge. No pace, not always the strongest in the air ( although did ok in this regard at Everton)  and moreover he doesnt seem to be much of a finisher of chances.

On the game tomorrow, everything points to an Arsenal win. They are the strongest team I’ve seen so far this season and now have the best squad.  Only 3 goals conceded and one of them was a worldy.  Lightening struck twice last season with us winning there for the second season in succession. Probability is even against us.

Its, as always, about improving  performances edpecially now with us having such a bad start.  Its central defence and midfield that will have my attention.  Need to be faultless both Kilman and Mavro which seems unlikely. Magassa announcing his arrival as a beast in midfield would be good as their midfield is so strong too.  Losimg narrowly seems to ve as good as it will get tbh and not conceding to a set piece but its more hope than faith at this juncture

Yup it's a fair point- maybe in future it's helpful to pop Wilson on after a defence has been softened up. Maybe depending on what the opposition is and how the game is going in terms of opportunity.
Feels like Fullkrug has the starting job at least for now, barring injury.

I reckon Fullkrug starts. Reason being Nuno looked delighted with him at the end of the Everton game, like he had maybe been given specific instructions and really executed them well despite not really looking like scoring. Wondering if he was asked to play a sacrificial role of some sort to grind down their defenders to grant us opportunities later in the game. He clearly did something very right in the manager's eyes.
Exactly,  he was in the game a lot, yes he's not quick but he does put himself about and can hold the ball up.
