No Weat Ham player has worked harder and been braver throughout his time here over the past 6 years than Soucek. Irrespective of the 58 goals he's been a part of. Geezer's a machine. Limited in passing ability, no question, but overall he's the type of dependable player you can regularly rely on *looks over in Paquetas direction*. We've missed his presence on the pitch before being reinstalled more recently again that coincided with picking up all these points. No coincidence at all. Was so happy to see Nuno resist the urge to rest him, he was excellent last night.

Make him captain and free Bowen from that hanging over him.

He's recently been given the Captains armband in Bowen's absence when he got taken off in the Chelsea game I noticed he handed him the armband. So he's definitely vice-Captain right now which is the right thing to do as he's the next best available. 

The wider point about stripping Bowen of the Captaincy I don't think is the right path to take in our current situation. In fact I think we lose his presence and leading by example leadership qualities on the pitch when he's taken off. Had he remained on the pitch when recently taken off, I doubt we drop 3 points when he was subbed in both games.

I cannot think of anything worse than to swap Bowen in the Team for Adrama. Completely night and day which hinders us. If it was the Royal Rumble then I could understand the tag team partnership with Bowen but never in Football. 

Would tend to agree, I think he's had a bit of an unfair rap as captain and doubt he is as shit at it as many seem to suggest. Clearly he won't be getting stripped this season, if at all.

I was at the game and missed Adama's shot at goal that he should have done better with.

The 7 minutes injury time that wasn't 7 mins killed us obviously. 
Haven't seen their goal again but looked a good goal that maybe we could have stopped by reacting quicker?

It's a bit harsh to quibble too much really. I thought the defence had another impressive game. Disasi did get caught a little flat-footed but overall he was magnificent.

Like others have said we defend from the front so our players should've given an obvious and stupid foul at the other end of the pitch to stop the game. I bet Taty would've known to do that if still on the pitch. 

This is such a good point. We’re all experts with hindsight, obviously, but Taty is from the home of time-wasting shithousery (I can say that as somebody with Italian DNA), and it would have been useful to have drawn on that innate PhD level of work late in the game.

All Italians are born overdue because they’re generally wasting as much time before entering the field of play. This is a (non-verifiable) “fact”.

 

 

Well, as we both should know by now two thirds of Argentine DNA is split between the Italians and Spanish with practically everybody else having a claim on the remaining third!

I know you're a Nuno fan but he's till not learning. The game was not a high energy one. We didn't deserve to win as we didn't create many chances. Man U similar. A deserved point but totally frustrating to lose it in the last minute. Taking both Summerville and Bowen off was a mistake. Traore was useless again. He was brought on to kill games off but twice now he has cost us. Nuno to defensive again. No outlet.
Potts and Soucek were not high energy in the first half but started the 2nd full of it,Soucek further up field and that led to the goal. 
Fernandes great but needs to keep his mouth shut as he's had 2 needless bookings which means he has to watch it for the remainder of the game.
I felt this game would be  easier than the Bournemouth game,they've got their mojo back and have a goal threat all over the team.
We need to keep the momentum going against Burton no slack off , rest a few but we haven't played that many games thus go strong,another win and some goals from other sources will be a huge confidence booster.

Not sure about a fan as such, more a case of he's better than Potter and Lopi and we are currently playing as well as we have for a long time, but sure he is still making mistakes and seems to get hung up on certain players for some reason. I didn't watch the whole game as middle of the night here so can't comment on too much of the detail that went on, but had we saw it out I doubt much of what you mention would have even come up. Fine lines etc.

Agree about Bouremouth and we will need to be right on it to beat them. I actually think our best chance of staying up is Forest faltering, as not too confident we will get to 40 points.

Despite the massive downer of their late equaliser, though, I was a little more upbeat about things after the game.

Our team put in a shift yesterday. Full-bloodied, and it wasn’t always pretty. But we will need more of that against good sides for the rest of the season. It was good to get at least some reward for it.

There was a few plastic mancs behind me and they were getting dogs abuse after celebrating the disallowed goal.

The stewards came along but failed to chuck them out as they should of done.

Anyone giving them a well deserved slap would of course end up with a ban and probably in the dock but the club and stewards do fuck all to deal with the problem.
