Nuno or Dyche?

Just reading a Forest forum, it seems they are all longing for Nuno back and rueing him leaving in the first place. Looks like they never warmed to Dyche at all.

But seen quite a few on here wanting Nuno out, and seen Dyche's name mentioned frequently as someone we should've got in instead.

Who would you rather have in charge?

Our football has improved with the new signings and the new assistant and agree that it's not as hard to watch (if you ignore the weekend B team), unless we go ahead and try and hold a lead - which happens to often for me - we struggle to kill a game off but I guess that doesn't come overnight.

But he is a big improvement on many of our previous managers for giving young players a chance.   It's great to see Potts, Scarles, Ezra-Myers get some minutes and we've seen Earthy and Orford too under Nuno.  I like it when the young players are used for cup and back-up instead of expensive journey-men who have been pretty ineffective for us in the past.

Let's hope this form continues.

Yeah his use of youth players is the biggest positive under Nuno. Also his agent should prove a plus point for future transfers.

Even with the improved performances and results in the last few weeks, he is still no improvement on Moyes.

No, no, no. Massively Autistic said that the reason Carrick got the boot at Boro was because they sold all their best players.

And it's just a coincidence that they are currently top of the Championship without him in charge.

my problem, and there was evidence at the weekend, that he seems to have learned nothing from that recent improvement in form. he will not, under any circumstances, play one of the youngsters in a two man attack so we're back to three across the middle or five at the back. neither work under him, and we're back to square one. a lone striker isolated, not enough bodies pushing forward and constantly on the back foot. I'd love him to prove me wrong

You have to be really, really stubborn not to admit that we've been good to watch since he got a couple of his own players in, and has had ample time to work on the squad. I was furious when he wouldn’t start with Wilson when he was the only option, but fairs fair, he didn't put together that god awful squad.

Nuno is marginally better but there is little between them in style. Our football has been largely the worst I’ve seen under any manager.

We have the second worst possession stats in the PL behind Burnley, and yet Burnley had more possession than us in both games we played them, with us having the lowest pass attempts.

We have also conceded the second highest amount of goals behind Burnley, despite playing a defensive style of football.

 

That should say lowest pass attempts in the PL.

I don't hate or dread going to watch under Nuno like I did under particularly Potter or Lop or the last 12 months of Moyes.

I genuinely think unless we hire Klopp as manager most fans wouldn't be happy with who we have in charge.  Very few managers of midtable teams play the sort of football the fan base seems to want....which is high octane, aggressive, direct football. 

As Ange showed, unless you have extremely good players and the right players it's a one way ticket to the bottom. 

The football Nuno has us playing right now is genuinely.very good. Passing through midfield, wingers that run at their fullback, quality central midfielder in Fernandes and fullbacks that looks to get forward.

I can't remember the last time we scored open play goals that as high quality as we have the last 5 games or so 
.

We look to press initially to try and win it back high up before dropping into shape so we can use our pace on the counter in transition.

Neither. One is dull, boring and has no idea on tactics, subs or game management. And so is the other one.

At this point I'm genuinely enjoying the combination of Nuno + Paco.

Were playing decent football. Look to get on the front foot when we can. Scoring good goals from open play. And he's not remotely been afraid to introduce our youth prospects into the side in games that matter.

He makes some tactical mistakes....but then they all do, and at least at the time the logic is there whether you agree with it or not.

Think of we survive, he'll go from strength to strength. As a club we are a good fit....even with his preferred agent model, which suits the idiot in charge of our club as well.

We just have to stay up!

People forget how bad we've had it. We've had two previous managers who left our best players on the bench, and played people out of position. 

I'm really happy with Nuno. He plays our best 11 and the players are giving everything, I look forward to every game.

Yeah, I agree with that. I wish we had more ambitious owners, who knew how to run a club properly and identify players and managers to fit, but we don't. 

With that in mind, I reckon he's about as good as we can expect. If we get lucky and stay up, I reckon we'll be well in the top half next season. I also enjoy the spells of good football we've put together over the last 5 games.

He does improve players as well, certainly defenders. Apart from Kilman, but that's definitely not his fault.

All that said, I still think we're going down. It just seems like the planets are aligned, Potter done the damage (yes, the owners are to blame) and Nuno didn't help himself initially, but it just feels like the luck ain't with us.

Does seem to me that Nuno, Dyche and Moyes are all similar managers really.

I’d say Dyche is the most limited, with Nuno being the most exciting and Moyes the most successful.

I think Nuno is doing alright.  Picking up points, playing youth and we are letting in less goals. In addition several players are playing much better.  What was everyone expecting from the crap squad?  Forest fans may want him back, but I can't see him working for Mr Creosote again.  Dyche a step back in football terms imo.  Even if we go down I think he would be the best option to get us straight back up.
