Adama Traoré | Signed
West Ham United is pleased to confirm the signing of Spain international winger Adama Traoré.
The 30-year-old joins the Hammers from Fulham for an undisclosed fee, reuniting him with Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo, who he worked under previously at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Strong, quick and able to create and score goals, Adama is a proven Premier League performer who will add experience and quality to Nuno’s attacking firepower.
Born in Barcelona, Adama came through Barça’s famed Academy before moving to the Premier League with Aston Villa in 2015. Since then, he has amassed 262 Premier League appearances, 14 goals and 25 assists for Villa, Middlesbrough, Wolves and Fulham.
“I’m so happy to be here, so happy to help the team the maximum I can and show my quality,” said Adama, who will wear the No17 shirt.
“I've been seeing West Ham for a long time. It's a massive club, a massive fanbase. I've been watching since I was young, when I watched a film about West Ham. I know about the fans and how much passion they have.
“My mentality is always to do better. It's always to improve as a player, to help the team as much as I can and I always say, if I'm the same person as yesterday, it's one day lost.
“I love the challenges. I think, of course, we have to go game by game. And this is what we're going to do, trying to do our best. I think everything comes from belief. And I believe we're going to achieve what we're looking for.”
Adama spent three of his best seasons with Nuno between 2018-21, twice helping Wolves finish seventh in the Premier League and reach the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. The Hammers’ Head Coach is relishing the opportunity to link up with the winger again.
“We are very happy to welcome Adama to the Club,” said Nuno. “He is someone I obviously know well from our time together at Wolves, and I am looking forward to working with him again.
“Adama is someone who knows the Premier League very well, and his unique qualities as a player will help us between now and the end of the season.
“He will give us a different option in attacking areas. He is also very motivated to fight for us and ready to bring energy, commitment and determination to our challenge.”
Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Adama and his family to East London, and wish him every success for his career in Claret and Blue.

Interesting, innit? Sides used to be scared of his footballing ability. Now they just worry that he’ll throw their fullbacks into the upper tier.
There’s no doubt his effectiveness has declined as his weightlifting has improved. But he probably sets a good example in the gym!

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
Seen widely varying accounts of what he’s paid. Most say between 60k and 70k a week. A few have suggested we’re paying him his 120k a week Fulham salary.
If it’s the former, I’m fine with it for a few months - then let him go if we stay up. If it’s the latter, our decision-makers should be shot.
But that’s not unusual for us.

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
He did used to usually have a good game against us.
He cost so little and there’s no risk past the en of this season that it was worth getting him in because we had no one otherwise behind Bowen or Summerville. Not a bad transfer even if he does relatively little. He has to be accounted for at all times when he’s on the pitch.

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
Apart from hurling annoying Chelsea players, I just don’t see Traore doing much for us. Runs quickly in straight lines looking like a roid addict. Doesn’t give us much else. There’s a reason he was in Fulham’s stiffs and they couldn’t wait to offload him.
Anybody know how much we’re paying him? If it’s anything like his Fulham wages, then it’s a complete waste.

you hated a player that's just scored in six consecutive games![]()
Because he got us up the pitch but with no end product...COYI is a comedy poster. Nobody is that thick... Well maybe feet but he's just special
Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
Give him more minutes and better match fitness and we might see Nuno get a bit of a tune out of him again like he did at Wolves where he provided a good few crosses for Jimenez goals. Shame we aint got a strong aerial presence to get on the end of anything should he ever get back to doing it again. Getting a bit fitter he may also provide a half decent outlet from defence to target with a long diagonal. But we must remember, even in his purple patch at Wolves, his end product was always a bit hit and miss.

If he lost some of that bulk he might be half decent. I dont understand why a footballer would do that to himself. I can't take him seriously.
Well done for a 6/10 performance against Burton.

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
Agreed, I thought he was one of the few decent players today. I don't get all the hate about him to be honest. Yes, he lacks end product, but his job is to get us up the field and put it amongst opposition defenders, which he did pretty well today. He's also quite skilful and showed some nice touches.
I'd rather him up there than some League 1 level dweeb like Marshall, whom we had to endure earlier this season before it became apparent he was woefully out of his depth at the elite level.

I thought he was okay today, the only player first half with any attacking intent.

An awful start but I still say he will prove useful, defenders hate coming up against forwards with pace and strength. We all shit ourselves when he use to come on against us.

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
Not a game well suited to Traore. By the time he came on we had very, if any of the ball. From what I can see. his value will be when we dominate the ball and can open teams up using his pace by through balls. I also think if we are under cosh he can be used as an outlet. Problem was, when he came on against Chelsea he sat too deep.
Not suggesting he is decent enough or going to be good for us. But, again, like in the Kilman thread, I say again, of you use a hammer to slice roast beef then its not the hammers fault.
Nuno put him on.

After he throw the midget to the ground and João Pedro pushed him, he 100% looked like the incredible hulk. I'll bet João Pedro absolutely shat himself.
I have to say after watching the video Far Cough posted it is fucking hilarious.
Yes I know it is quite serious for us,

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
Can't quite remember how it works but could the FA retrospectively ban Traore for violent conduct from what he did, or is it because The Ref decided to somehow only send off Todibo that they can't now intervene? I say this to benefit the Team not to hamper it with him being available..

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
you could probably scout a fitter, more technically sound player over hackney marshes who would cost fuck all. but of course that wouldn't get a number of attached/connected bods paid, so the pointless/shit signings keep flowing
