US Politics Thread
Seems like the main politics thread is becoming a Yankee-Doodle Trump-fest, so maybe scope here to split them out.
Will see if this one gains any traction ..if it does will move over a few of the million posts from our two protagonists from the other thread.
Yee-haaa!

The global war on terror GWOT 2001 to 2021 failed because we still have terrorism . Bin Laden was killed and still the terrorism goes on, I have worked in the UAE Qatar and Adul Dhabi for a total of just over two years, If you are transferring through one middle east country to another in my case Abu Dhabi - Jordan - London you get searched and x rayed when you transfer because none of the Emirs, Kings of presidents don't want known jihadis on their soil
An attack on Iran or killing is leaders wont changes anything it will inflame the situation that's why the GCC countries were against it because it radicalize their own citizens

Isis have been hammered by Trump, something Obama and Biden couldn’t do. You don’t see anywhere near as many terror attacks as you did a few years back.
Iraq is a much safer and better place without Saddam and his regime…. Middle East and the world are much better off without him.
Hamas, Hezbullah and the Houthi’s will be gas less busy without Iran funding them.
Libya is awful quiet without Gaddafi.
Syria is another one who is no longer the thorn it once was.
Trump has put all the worlds bad actors on notice, you fuck around you’ll find out.
To say progress hasn’t been made by taking out bad actors is bollox!
Generally agree but Libya has still got a civil war going on with Russia backing one side which wants to flood Europe with illegals
Glad Assad gone in Syria another scumbag backed by Russia
Putin is as evil as the mad mullahs in Iran who he also backs

Nothing silly about what the Iranians have been doing down the years. It’s all deadly serious and we all know it..So are we at war with Russia? Saudi Arabia? Qatar? Somalia? There’s terror groups around the globe who get funding via certain countries.
Trump told the world he started this war for various reasons he keeps changing. One of which was an imminent threat of attack from Iran. Do you not think this should be substantiated? Because someone who was very close to him completely disagrees.
There doesn't have to be only 1 reason to go to war with a Country.
And as for being very close to him, I don't think he was part of the situation room when ultimately making the decision with a select number of officials and the intelligence they were dealing with. If he has done wrong, I'm sure they'll try him in the Hague.

Zero nuclear weapons and capability, with a decimated arsenal of weapons beyond that. Extremely weaker.
Re: US Politics Thread
Trump says he doesn't need NATO again after everyone refused when he asked for help with intital strike then not needing them after winning the war and slagging them off then needing them again and here we are after another refusal.

No loss in the war against Iran, a war Iran first started decades ago by killing many serving Americans much like himself. So when he talks about no imminent threat I agree with him, the threat had long been waged years ago already..Let’s not be silly

Let’s not be silly, there was no war prior to a couple of weeks ago. If we wanna play that game we can go all the way back to US interference in Iran going back to the 50s.
Hopefully when this ends they will be forced to share the intelligence publicly so the voters can see if there was an imminent threat was true. Kent clearly doesn’t think so.

Why is he no loss? Because he had a differing point of view?
it’s not the loss of the person, more questioning the reason given for starting this war.

Trump continuing his toddler tantrum today. Apparently they never needed any help from his allies despite him saying the opposite. Now they’ve all told him to fuck off he’s lashing out.
Meanwhile The director of the US's National Counterterrorism Center has announced his resignation on social media - saying he "cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran".
His words:
“Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”

Re: US Politics Thread
I've often wondered why the USA didn't simply say to the rest of the world: "You trade at any level with Russia, you trade at any level with Iran, then OUR internal markets are simply not available to you."
The USA is quite within the law to decide who has - and who doesn't have access to it's own internal markets.
Then it's just a case of sitting out the reciprocal sanctions and waiting to see who blinks first.

Terrorism would have continued regardless of zero involvement which isn't a good enough reason to never get involved.
