A.Villa v West Ham United
A.Villa v West Ham United
Massive match Sunday and we need to take something but a win will take and keep us out of the bottom three.
Hopefully Summerville is back and if he is just one decision for Nuno to make and that is which of the centre backs misses out... Really tough decision for him as Disasi has been great since arriving, Dinos and Todibo were both outstanding against City.
If Summerville isn't fit I'm guessing he'll go for another midfielder and hope he does as I'd prefer not to go three at the back again.

It's fucking simple Fraser you dork.
We'll get a point, just.but if we sit back and allow Villa to shoot then we won't even get a point.
We have the players to get a point but not if Nuno goes to negative, there's no way we be able to do the same again. Mavro won't have a face left...
So as usual with you it's contradiction form doesn't matter until it suits you.. So because City lost to multiple times European champions Real Madrid it makes it easier than Villa who beat a bang average French side. Leeds drew at Villa, Brentford won at Villa, Chelsea thrashed Villa at Villa but they're harder to get a point against than Man City who regularly thrash us.. Go have a look at the bookies odds for both fixtures and I guarantee you that the odds for a draw against City were longer than the odds for a draw against Villa... Your logic is all over the place
Just looked we're 3/1 to beat Villa we were longer to beat City ... Villa aren't even odds on to win they're just over evens
Oh and you didn't say a win would be harder than a point at home you said
A point here will be great, harder than against City.

The top teams do it a lot with CB's, Arsenal are gonna win the league doing it. Gives us more stability, bit more arieally, and we won't be constantly targeted there. I also think he's quick enough and good on the ball to get forward at times, and he'll be over their winger like a rash.
Totally agree - really good shout. Makes sense tactically and makes good use of players in form. An extra threat at set pieces too, attack and defence, which could be invaluable.
Re: A.Villa v West Ham United
fuck Villa, on a run of the worst form they've been in for a while, a big contrast to when we played them last when they were in the best form they've probably ever had and we were still shit.
We owe them a beating.
We owe them a beating.
Re: A.Villa v West Ham United
Well yes as it makes them definitely not a harder game than City now when we played them when they were on their run of 12 wins or whatever it was and they were flying and we were doing the opposite it was a massive ask and they beat us then but they weren't that good.
It's not past form it's current form, Wolves are bottom and playing really well so you also have to take in how they're playing in their last 5 they've drawn with Arsenal beat Villa and Liverpool and drawn with Brentford so you wouldn't say they were an easy game because they're bottom.

All considered this is a good fixture to have at just the right time. We need to capitalise on it. Be very disappointed wirh a loss having done most of the hard work getting to this point. We can definitely get a decent result out of this and really hoping we can win it which is very possible. Poor League form coupled with less rest because of Europe as we've had plenty can make all the difference, especially after our confidence boosting draw against City as well.

They will have had less than 3 day rest, we will have had nearly 8. We need to make it count. I agree with Boleyn this will be a tough game.

Re: A.Villa v West Ham United
Villa rested quite a few, expect Mings,Cash and Konsa to start in defence.Watkins and Buendi too. Harvey Elliot must have triggered the permanent clause now, very strange use of him. He'll surely be an option to replace Rogers more often if required.
A point here will be great, harder than against City. They'll be buoyant and now that 5th place has been secured as a CL place have two fronts for qualification there.
Need to start strong . Mavro assist 1-1

Hoping for Lille to score and extra time. They'll be knackered and if we start strong as we have been doing of late we can control the game. Wishful and doable.

Re: A.Villa v West Ham United
Villa’s poor form coincided with injuries to Tielemans, Kamara and McGinn. Only McGinn is back by now. On top of that Watkins has played like a donkey for most of the season and they only have Abrahams in reserve. The main threat will be Rogers – any chance of an injury tonight?

Think we'll play ok but realistically will be defeated 2-1 in this one. It's going to go to the wire......
They've lost 4 of their last 6 league games only Forest and Spurs are in worse form over the last 10... It isn't just Man U who have beaten them.

Re: A.Villa v West Ham United
If Summerville is fit it's back to our winning 4-4-2 for me.
Hermansen
Wan Bissaka, Mavropanos, Disasi, Diouf
Bowen, Soucek, Fernandes, Summerville
Tatty, Pablo
We can win this. Form says we should win this!

I think Pablo, only got taken off last week as he was coming back from that injury.
If Jimmy's out I expect they'll start same as v Man City
Wouldnt be against this and playing Mayers LB. He has looked solid and think they play Bailey or Buendia wide right who he is capable of taking care of

It's a tough call.
Not like @Mad Ferret not to have chimed in by now to suggest anything is fine as long as Potts isn't in the Club.
Fucking hell son, rent free or what.
Fwiw, how many people you see putting Potts in their predicted lineups these days? He's been shown to be utter gash.

That's a good shout, Todibo is also pretty good with the ball as well. I like AWB but he has been at fault for goals quite a lot this season.

Can't shift out Mavropanos after that obscene herculean effort. 1st name on the team sheet!
