Villa A.Villa v West Ham United

Post fraser »

Massive match Sunday and we need to take something but a win will take and keep us out of the bottom three.

Hopefully Summerville is back and if he is just one decision for Nuno to make and that is which of the centre backs misses out... Really tough decision for him as Disasi has been great since arriving, Dinos and Todibo were both outstanding against City.

If Summerville isn't fit I'm guessing he'll go for another midfielder and hope he does as I'd prefer not to go three at the back again.

I would say no, but might find a way of getting a point. When was the last time we beat a side even close to the top 6?? It's important that we come through this weekend in decent shape still before a run of winnable games.
It'll be an interesting measure of where we're at.  We've gone close against top 6 teams (Chelsea & Man Utd),  Without Summerville I'm just not sure we have enough to really go at Villa.

I'm not confident on this one tbh...it's a big ask to go there and get  a win...a draw would be a great result for us

Agree, I have bad feelings about this game and I really hope to be proven wrong. A win here is another golden chance to potentially put us above one or both of Forest and Spurs, but despite our good form we've had recently when it really comes down to it we just cannot grasp these opportunities, and for Villa its must win. Draw at best.

Hopefully he only makes the bench for a token run out after being out for so long with a fucked ankle. It's not really a game to rush him back in to starting as they have a keen eye on Emery's 5th Europa League Cup in Europe now in the Quarters.

Villa's midfield is in the sick bay.

Tielemans is vital for them in making them tick. Massive loss for them. It went to ratshit since his injury.
McGinn is hugely underrated as well. His energy and work rate keeps them ticking as well as Kamara who is also out. Arguably the best midfield in the prem until they got injured.
They'll be bamboozled by Soucek and Pablo looking like ice dance giraffes in tandem..

The 3 big players for me they've got that they can't do without is Martinez, Rogers, Tielemans. Ginn is important but I don't think they got to pot like they would without the other 3.

Would definitely take a draw, but we are capable of winning there if it all clicks.
I was thinking the same, but last night will have helped them find a bit of form.

If we win sunday then we stay up, it will really push us forward mentally.
A win would be absolutely massive, a point will keep us level with either Forest or Spurs which we would have all taken before City and Villa.

Even a loss has us only a point behind maximum

Our defence seems much better drilled to contain any threat Villa currently pose, and I think we can compete with their weakened midfield. Its whether we can create and put our chances away, especially if Summerville doesn't make it, based on that I'd be more than happy with a point up there.
