Arry was perfect for 'Parlo' and Slav was perfect for Payet. Encourage the talent rather than trying to neuter it.
Di Canio also got into a fight with Capello I think.

Payet lit up a Euro's, PDC never come anywhere close to that level.
Wasn't given the opportunity to do so. A running joke he wasn't selected at International level, only given 1 poxy solitary Italy B cap ffs.

Never said top, I reserve that for Bonds and Brooking, but definitely the most skilful and most talented player we have ever had.

Re: Payet retires
Up there with Devonshire for me, that season we had him was one of the most joyous ones of my 51 years of following this club and any cսnt who downplays it clearly never watched him play.

38 apps with 8 goals in the French national team but yeah he was fucking useless.
38 international appearances for a supposed world class player
Had a good season for us, was otherwise a decent player in the French league.

There's a reason only Marseille were in for him when he threw his toys out the pram.
Fat French cսnt.Had a look. You're talking shit again.
Being decent in the French league doesn't equal a good season.

Re: Payet retires
Most exciting player we've had by far in the past decade. At his best he was absolute world class and you almost wondered what he was doing here. At his worst (in the first season in the bowl) he was a disgrace.
Every time he was stood over a free kick you thought it was going in. Every time you needed a bit of magic, just like Di Canio, he seemed able to produce some.
Love a fucking maverick.

Re: Payet retires
In that 2015/16 season I always felt that in every game we had the most talented player on the pitch
Not often that has occurred if at all in living memory
Briiliantly talented and probably our best ever free kick taker
Not the same when we left UP & another reason why the move has killed the club
After that season and the Euros there was talk of Real Madrid being interested. I imagine they thought we can’t ‘progress’ by moving & then sell our best player
