The RIPcress File

Len Deighton, author of The Ipcress File, has died aged 97.

Good innings and a quality 60's film starting Michael Caine.

Was surprised to learn he was still alive. Until now
Was reading the bbc article about him which said the cause of death wasn’t revealed
He was 97! Take a guess

Said he was a great cook and in the Ipcress File scene where Harry Palmer breaks two eggs in one hand to make an omelette it was his hands as Michael Caine couldn’t master it
Wanted his character to be working class as a reaction to James Bond poncing around in a dinner jacket

RIP
Swiss.

Yes a good writer and good film. Harry Palmer is legendry character. Never forget the nail in the hand scene when they try to brainwash him.
