Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
I would think the most likely reason Igor Julio didn’t go to Palace is that Glasner would have walked if they’d sold Guehi and Eze in the same transfer window.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
He’s the lump who jogged alongside Bowen and watched him score the winner in Prague instead of scything him down, right? I think we should sign him and pay him handsomely just to say thank you.

Re: Nott'm Forest vs West Ham | PL | 31.08.25 | Prediction & Match Thread
A brilliant away day. Bowen and Paqueta pumped. Where was Forest’s famous atmosphere. Love our fans when we large it in provincial towns and come home with three points, rare as it is. The train home is buzzing.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
A different club than us would say fine, if he wants to go he can go, let’s do everything we can to replace him. We’re not that club. He’ll go. Sullivan will have £50m in his sky and we’ll be short on creativity for the rest of the season.

Bobby Moore, Franz Beckenbauer, Johann Cruyff, George Best. I guess there are some benefits to being old!

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
Like Alf said, I think it’s only loans that’ll come through the door now. Sullivan won’t back a manager he may well have to sack with any more permanent transfers. We don’t own the stadium and have only two genuine playing assets in Bowen and Paqueta- no guarantee Sullivan wouldn’t sell them. The on...

You’re right, Vexed, whatever Potter has inherited and even though his boss keeps throwing him under the bus, he should still do better.

Re: Potter Out
Manager is irrelevant as long as Sullivan is there. Only ones who’ll take the job are on the downward slide in career terms and prepared to risk being Sullivan’s fallguy for one last shot at the Premier League. I guess maybe Ange would fit that bill but Sullivan is really the de facto manager and fo...

Re: Sullivan out!
It does feel different now that the national press and pundits have got Sullivan directly in their sights and are calling him out as self-serving and incompetent. Obviously this is massive wishful thinking on my part but it does feel to me as though something big is about to happen. I suspect it wil...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
Those of you who understand business / finance, am I reading this right? The club we love is actually just a side issue in a failed property deal that was the actual focus of Sullivan and Brady all along. That’s why their interest and ours are so far apart. So long as Gold was around they could pret...

Re: This weekends football
Not overly impressed by the Chiesa song about them ‘crying in Turin’ which Carragher was chortling about on Friday night. I’m old enough to remember watching the telly on the night the Liverpool fans were responsible for the deaths of 39 Juventus fans at Heysel. I’d say they’ve got every reason to c...

Re: Brady on Talksport this morning
Fair enough Ernie but the fact is there’s a massive difference between coming over as professional (spin, PR, questions agreed in advance, media training) and being professional which she patently isn’t. She’s a fraud and a failure.

Brady on Talksport this morning
I understand herself is on the radio with Shaun Curtis and Henry Winter at 10am this morning. I trust they are going to behave like the proper journalists they claim to be and ask her a string of exacting questions- my opener would be, “Isn’t it true to say that your career at West Ham has been extr...

Re: Sunderland vs West Ham Utd | PL | 16.8.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
That was a really demoralising defeat to a team who probably won’t win many matches. We were flat but in no real bother at half time but all the things we’ve wittered on endlessly about on here were painfully apparent- slow midfield passing sideways etc etc. I’ve seen some miserable losses in my tim...

Re: Graham Potter
Not going to burn my specially printed off Sunderland ticket (what’s that all about) and my train ticket based on that Alf. Our fans are massive, Potter will get a tune out of them this year, we’ve got a big German, Bowen and Paqueta are still on our books and it’s happy days ahead. Cheer up, old so...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
I hear you. But I do think there are some positives with JWP. His free kicks have been a massive disappointment but I think his corner taking is excellent and potentially a difference maker if Kilman, Todibo and Mavropanos could head the ball even half as well as dear old Craig Dawson. I’m hoping se...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
Like others I wondered if JWP might be a makeweight in a deal for Fernandes but perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that he’s very much part of Potter’s plans since Potter values above all else character, teamwork, team spirit, the group’, good lads getting along together. That’s the culture he builds...

Re: Lille sold out?
Second half a lot better though it could hardly have been worse. Bowen and Füllkrug seem to be developing an understanding. Wingbacks looked good. The big difference for me is the team spirit. Miles better than under the Spaniard but if that’s Potter’s main achievement, it’ll come under serious thre...

Re: Cunting Fuckface Wilson.
This is why we moved from Upton Park, so we could compete at the top level? I’ve not really got anything against the guy. He’s a pantomime villain at worst. But this shows how much Sullivan despises us. Old, crocked, past it forward rather than a young, exciting player who can take us to the next le...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
Like many on here I’ve been approaching this new season with dread and negativity- not helped by the lack of anything exciting happening in the transfer market. But what we’ve seen in the two games in America at least suggests some sort of plan, a bit of team spirit, a potential leader in Füllkrug a...
