Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
Luo Reed's Metal Machine Music, Part 3. Strange, this album; it sounds like it should irritate the fuck out of me, but, for me, it's akin to the early days of trying to listen to Radio Luxembourg (on 208m medium wave) or some short wave music station from god knows where - my brain keeps thinking &...

Re: Ron Greenwood and England
I remember him taking over after Revie and bringing some dignity and integrity back to the role of England Manager. In a European Chgampionship qualifier v Denmark we won away 3-4. After the match the interviewer asked him if he was concerned that England had let in three, and he patiently explaine...

Thanks Billy, I am aware of the German one but will look up the French one. The German one appears in the Film Chsitiane F. I think.

Re: Covered songs better than the original.
Good morning everyone. This one opens up an interesting tangent. Scott Walker. Jacky. Alex Harvey. Next Bowie. Amsterdam. The original versions all by Belgian singer / songwriter / actor Jacques Brel of course. Amsterdam was what led me to discovering Brel, who sang in French. Luckily I have en...

Re: Covered songs better than the original.
Does anyone agree that rather than the 'original song' it's often the one you hear first which you prefer and take as the 'original' and therefore are more likely to like. Put another way, have you ever heard the original version and preferred it to a later version which you had heard first? For in...

Re: Covered songs better than the original.
This may be sacrilige for some on here but I found George Michael's version of Roxanne so different from the 'Police' original that it was well worth a listen.
Re: Radiohead
Yeah, I saw that, thanks. There are more comments on FaceSpace too. Not having used AXS before I'm wondering if a plain blue screen is normal for a queue, that's all.
Radiohead
Anyone else having problems getting past the queue on this. All I have is a plain blue screen with AXS and a slogan at the top.

Re: How important is owning the stadium?
I find this an interesting topic. I presume that we have few fixed assets; Rush Green perhaps? The value in the club must be in its turnover, player contracts, TV rights - others can complete the list. But it strikes me that the value of these can plummet with relegation which is why I was against t...

I'm guessing because you can borrow against its value which until now since I've been alive has always been increasing in value above inflation. In my humble opinion. Ready to be corrected if someone knows better.

Re: Pub in Berlin for the game.
It was a few years back since I've been there but the Irish Pub used to show the football. It's on the Kurfurstendamm between KDW and the memorial church. Closest underground by the looks of it is Kurfurstendamm. Would be worth checking first. www.irishpubberlin.de https://www.bing.com/th/id/OLC.T...

Good post but Urchins are gonna muller you on 5th Sept Good evening Mr XKHammer, I have had the pleasure of visiting your atheletics stadium in the freezing cold a couple if years back just before Christmas. It wasn't for an Ebbsfleet game sadly, but for a pre-Xmas piss up. (Pick a match, get piss...

Re: What other sports teams do you support
The club is hamstrung bya lack of investment and lease situation. The board is mostly made up of well meaning and hard working long term fans but they need a big hitter to come in and invest heavily. Anyone doing this would want overall control which would initially be problematic due to the he n...

Re: What other sports teams do you support
Plenty to be positive about around your club then, particularly regarding supporter involvement to keep it going, make improvements and even fund a player. Having a permanent ground however is key and it's good to hear that may be resolved at some point in the future. You're still part-time? That's...

Gravesend and Northfleet F.C. (sadly recently renamed after the local railway station). If you think West Ham's ownership is a circus you should see what we have endured here in North Kent. At least since our drop into the National League South I have been able to enjoy a beer whilst watching the g...

The Kuwaiti owner lost all his dosh on the failed bid to set up Paramount World or whatever it was on Swanscombe marshes. Some lesser spotted larvae did for him. (Interesting place, Swanscombe. Re: Fashion, by David Bowie
The first album I ever bought was Aladin Sane. Not a bad one to start off with. I ended up buying all of Bowie's releases up to 'Tonight'. My interest had begun to wane when Let's Dance came out. I didn't bother listening to anything of his work subsequently until I caught up wth the documentary ab...

Re: Best player you’ve seen live
In terms of the most skill playing for West Ham, for me it would have to be Payet. He had the ability to do things that others couldn't even imagine (which sadly included going on strike to get a move away). From other teams well this is not going to be a popular choice, but I would have to mention ...
