Re: Misplaced Childhood 40 years old today
Great album but I've always been more of a fan of Marillion with Hogarth singing. Frankly Fish's lyrics always sounded as if he'd sat there writing them with extensive consultation of a thesaurus. Always felt a bit 'sixth-form' to me?... They're playing at the Kernowfornia festival down in Cornwall ...

Re: What happened to these WHOisms?
Can't remember if it was WHO or another forum but I was always a fan of 'MLOM' (man lands on moon) when somebody excitedly posted something that they thought was hot off the press when it was in fact old news.

Re: Going to a gig on your own
Bungo. To be fair, when he started out , he was on far to many drugs and drank far too much to be on stage. He is far more disciplined these days and luckily, his comedy hasn't suffered. He still roasts people but he doesn't humiliate them which is exactly how it should be. Fair play. There i...

Re: Going to a gig on your own
At the risk of totally contradicting myself, I got 5 tickets for Jim Jefferies at Hammersmith in September. My boy is flying in from Aus to join his Sister,2 brothers and me. Can't remember the last time the 5 of us were in the same room at the same time. Genuinely excited for this. I remember see...

Re: Job Interviews on a Saturday
I’ve applied for a few new roles recently, one being a Consultancy firm delivering GenAI tools. I’ve spoken to the recruiter and based on my CV and experience they’re keen to interview me, which I suppose is a good thing. However they have tried to set an interview up over the weekend! Comin...

Re: Going to a gig on your own
(I manged about half of G'n'R at Wembley in 19991 it was so poor). I think I meant 1991? Bungo is definitely from the future that's in-keeping with the profile pic. Tell me, in the year 19991, has the destructive Club killing Dinosaur Sullivan finally dead and that West Ham went on to play in a ...

Was fuckin great
Blimey! Last time I saw Tank was supporting Motorhead in 82? (I think)
I presume the line up is a bit different now!

Re: Going to a gig on your own
Almost always. Football too now that #2 son is no longer close by. I like the complete freedom and independence it gives you to go and do whatever you want, when you want without having a discussion/agreement. Many times I've left gigs sometime before the end when I'm not feeling it or the band are...

Re: Ancestry...Who are you ?
Whilst my lineage is very ordinary, Mrs Bungo is directly and closely related to the family of the Earl of Lindsey and Abingdon. Sadly she comes from a side of the family that did not inherit wealth, so has been forced to join the common workforce with the rest of us. One day though, I'm sure we w...

Re: New Maiden show opening vid
Thank you for posting the video....I last saw them live at The Ruskin Arms back in December 1981 (could have been 82). Sadly Paul Di'Anno and Clive Burr are no longer with us and personally I think they were better then than they are now but fair dues to the band ,they are still rocking after all t...

New Maiden show opening vid
Coming to Stratford very soon, the new show opening video is heavily based around some very familiar pubs as well as a couple of West Ham references in there. Even those who aren’t that keen on Maiden may enjoy this.PS Some great setlist inclusions in the new show that haven’t been played live for a...

Re: So where's everyone going on holiday?
As far as I remenber it took a few days for Pompeii to be buried wheras it was just hours for Herculaneum. The amazing thing is that it is in a sort of bowl in the ground surrounded by modern housing. It really emphasises the contrast between then and now. Also (like Pompeii) there is lots more t...

Re: So where's everyone going on holiday?
We were there in March (stayed in Naples). Did you go to Herculaneum? Quite different to Pompeii and more startling in a way, possibly because of the speed it was buried. We were going to but as we were only there four nights we decided against it in the end. Think we had enough of the accordion p...
