Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

A 4.5 out if 10 window as things stand. Magassa if a success could transform it to a 6 / 10 but based on what was needed in light of other club’s spending / strengthening and the fact that we have struggled in the league for 3 seasons, Sullivan and the board have confirmed that its short term object...

5 things you didnt know about Igor Junior (Julio)

Saw this heading on the OS. Thought it might say:
(1) He’s a fat cvnt
(2) He’s crap in the air
(3) He’s painfully slow
(4) He was Brighton’s 5th choice CB
(5) He gets injured a lot

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

The cost of Sullivan’s insistence on appointing Loppy is still hanging around our neck like a huge turd in the form of Kilman and Guido.  A classic example of “Creating the storm then complaining when it rains”.  Sullivan’s feeling a bit better tonight though after not being able to sell Paqueta, he...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Yep saw some Podcast on YouTube that quoted a Brighton fan saying Igor was slow and not very good in the air. A Sullivan pick based on his availability and moreover price ( cheap loan) rather than paying £17 mill that Toulouse wanted for Cresswell? Of course it was.

Re: Freddie Potts

Its true Alfs that we as fans want the youth players to make it that it can interfere with objectivity ( is that what is also called cognitive dissonance ?). Potts, as you say, has not “pulled up any trees” or caught the eye particilarly but as no 6 his job is more about the team, working hard etc. ...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

As Stubbo says we dont know. Sullivan might be positioning us financially to withstand future PSR and / or cash flow impacts. The whole “ prudent” accounting principle.  Trouble is Sullivan is not trustworthy or honest or transparent in any way. Never has been. I suppose you can level that at many f...

Re: Freddie Potts

Potter’s has really fvcked up on Potts imo. Like so many managers we see fail down the years ( England managers particularly come to mind ) they have this belief in past reputations or history and “experience” over what they see with their eyes.  Potts played pre season but soon as the real matches ...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Igor reportedly turns with the speed of the Titanic. Brighton’s 5th choice CB. Palace muat have been desperate to get any CB in too. But we nabbed this bloke from them. The cheapest option versus Cresswell and geezer from Chelsea. Sullivan squad filler. Spent £90 million and got £70 in apparently? G...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Igor was the hunchback in Young Frankenstein. A perfect West Ham signing. Seriously tho, worse than I thought. Sullivan trouserinv the Aguerd money and no one coming in is what will happen.  He trousered £17 million from Kudus deal and now Aguerd fee. Does it every window. Spends some but is always ...

Re: Nott'm Forest vs West Ham | PL | 31.08.25 | Prediction & Match Thread

Like many things in life, its usually a combination of things. Tactics and formations a big part of it but it is hard in the Prem Lge nowadays without players that are strong, athletic and pacy. Fernandes helped and changing JWP for Irvine was key too. Him and Soucek or Guido always likely to run ou...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Sullivan will be in full cash flow protection mode now having had to buy 2 last week.  I suspect Aguerd will go for £19 million with a decent immediate payment and Sully will look for a loan. Hence Cresswell wont happen unless Toulouse accept a loan to buy. Everything we have done has been on the “n...

Re: Nott'm Forest vs West Ham | PL | 31.08.25 | Prediction & Match Thread

I thought Irvine has looked decent in most of his cameo appearances. A better version of Soucek in his work on and off the ball but very unlikely to match Tonny’s goal threat. Would he be happy as an impact sub? If he was ok , he might be worth retaining. Did well in his minutes today as the fame be...

Re: Weekend Football

Villa looking a bit pony all of a sudden. Suspect it wont last for long as Emery is a decent manager but looks to me like they are suffering with the effects of PSR which has restricted their transfer ambitions.  The Prem Lge demands you freshen up a squad every season really. Yes Liverpool didnt do...

Re: Potter Out

See where are at game 5. If we see the improvement sustained for another couple of games it might then be that we have “turned a corner”. But to really know will probably mean waiting until xmas assuming we dont immediately go back into a “downward death spiral”. The transfer window needs to get us ...

Re: Nott'm Forest vs West Ham | PL | 31.08.25 | Prediction & Match Thread

I had zero faith. Never have I been so sure we’d lose. A back 4 and decent subs and we end up winning comfortably. Funny ol game. Special mentions for Summerville who changed the game. Irvine did really well too. Fernandes tired 2nd half but looks a good buy amd good pwrfoemances from Diouf and our ...

Re: Nott'm Forest vs West Ham | PL | 31.08.25 | Prediction & Match Thread

I cannot understand but do admire those being positive. I assume they believe a draw or win for us is pure blind faith and nothing else? Because its been a while since I have been this resigned to a loss. You cannot compete in the Prem Lge, trying to play a possession game, when you play 2 in any mi...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Based on what we’ve seen of Paqueta last 2 seasons and even 3 games of this season ( after bet fix allegations cleared ) he is losing the ball far too often and struggling with the lack of time and space. But thats imo because he’s not played in his best position deeper as an 8. Potter, like Moyes a...

Re: Nott'm Forest vs West Ham | PL | 31.08.25 | Prediction & Match Thread

JWP, Soucek, Guido. Start with 2 or more of them = a battering.  Start with 2 of them = a  clear loss. All we can hope for is Potter subbing them a lot earlier ( he now has another option or 2 with the signings, I doubt he will start one let alone both of them) because any of the 3 like with Paqueta...

Re: Welcome Mateus Fernandes

Alone he aint gonna make as a good team but hopefully improves us. Good ball carrier, good tackler and intercepter and can create chances, even scores bow and then.  Will Potter start him?  Its not certain.  Cant see getting anything at Forest anyway. Chris Wood will have a field day.

Re: Potter Out

Still not convinced with his “Poor Man’s Pep” tactics as the best teams seem to have moved away from a pure controlled possession game. Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal etc can move the ball quickly and get it from back to front with 2 or 3 passes to break teams down and other teams like Bournemouth, Bri...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

If Timber is all he’s cracked up to be and can replicate his form, creativity and goals in the Prem Lge, and its him OR Paqueta, then a 21 year old trumps a 28 year old for me.  But a few IFs as always. Paqueta as a number 10 dows not work in the  faster than ever Prem Lge. He needs to much time and...
