Re: Boxing

I well remember the unfancied John H Stracey going to Mexico City and, much to everyone’s surprise, putting one over Jose Napolese to win his world title.

Re: Why have so many posters left this site?

I echo the responses that a couple of people have made about the foe option. The foe facility, for me, is what makes this Board tolerable. Interestingly on a bad day for bickering simply making two or three foes can  filter out more than 50% of what is being posted leaving sensible stuff undisturbed...

Re: Boxing

My earliest memory of boxing is listening with my Dad and Grandad to the world title bout between Turpin and Sugar Ray at Earls Court back in 1951. Since then I have had many boxing heroes, not all of them were serial winners, but right now I cannot think of ever holding anyone at a greater level of...

Re: Why have so many posters left this site?

Bolty, the fact is that this Board is gradually evolving itself out of existence. See the reasons northbankfrank and Council Scum give and that just about covers it.

Huge congratulations to Maria Corina Machado, I am sure Nutsin will be delighted for her and Venezuela.

A triumph for democracy.

Re: International Break Yawn Fest

Internationals are the only times, these days, where we can see a team of nominal Englishmen playing. With the paucity of Brits represented in PL teams, and it’s going the same way in the Championship too, perhaps we should, instead of yawning, be keen to see “our” lads playing for our country.

Football is much more enjoyable if you avoid pre and post game  TV/radio punditry.

As for listening to such as talksport it beggars belief.

Stubbo, the issue for us fans is that Pacq, though top of the WHU stats, is nonetheless playing well below the level expected by us from him.

JK, please show the words that show I endorse the alleged disproportionate sentencing.

I spoke only of a poster misleading by means of omission. You, JK, chose to jump in with a lie.

JK wrote “No suprise to see you endorsing the disproportionate sentencing, in favour of sexual assault by illegal migrants”.

Just so that others know please put up my words that shows me endorsing disproportionate sentencing.

Or carry on lying, your choice.

2left feet, did you deliberately omit to mention that these three blokes assaulted Police officers?

These thugs know that punching and kicking cops doing their duty carries a premium and if they didn’t they do now.

Glad to see them off the street

Jusr four shots none of which were on target. Potter would have been crucified on

Re: Team Captain

The fact is that Bowen fits the bill best to Captain the team. It is a prerequisite that the player has to be a definite regular starter and one who leads by example.

The Captain position should not be up for grabs or discussion right now.

Re: Nuno In

It’s reassuring to hear that Nuno takes no nonsense from his squad. By contrast one of the things that came out about the Bilic stewardship, especially the relegation threatened time,  was how relatively lax players and staff were at training. Moyes would not put up with laxity, not sure about Loppy...

Can you explain, in a sensible non exaggerating way, why there is blood on Starmer’s hands over this incident.

And is there perhaps a spec of blood or two already on the hands of Netanyahu?
