Re: What happened to these WHOisms?

I remember, from a decade or more ago, when anything transfer related was said to be part of the Carrick deal.

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)

I see that the orange faced, carefully coiffed, popinjay is holding a military parade to mark his 79th birthday. This present USA leadership is looking ever the more fascist like.

Re: Job Interviews on a Saturday

Though unusual to hold interviews outside of the normal working day it does happen. Sometimes it’s the most convenient, least business disruptive, way for a company to organise a selection process. If an applicant really wants a job a Saturday invitation should not be a deal breaker.

Re: International matches

I chose not to watch last night’s game. A comparatively meaningless friendly at the end of the season did not appeal,  the more so after the feast of recent games featuring club and international competitions ( the Spurs/ManU game was the turgid outlier in terms of skill and goals ). An assessment o...

Thumb up or down is all that’s needed.

Don’t waste time piss balling about with a profanity option instead address this Board’s real and most significant issue which concerns the freedom to endlessly bicker.

Re: Season 1 done and dusted for the 'new WHO site'...any feedback?

Onebilly, I take your point and do indeed swerve threads whose titles indicate something of little interest to me. Also I do not use the display option to scan the post of a foe on threads I read. I don’t want to read, at all, any content from a foe but it’s thus far unavoidable when a non foes cont...

Re: Season 1 done and dusted for the 'new WHO site'...any feedback?

I like the foe facility but it does not fulfill my requirement to avoid the content I wish to avoid sufficiently enough. Can there be a way to ensure content from foes does not show when included in posts from non foes? In short if I foe someone I don’t want to see anything they post without me opti...

I remember the record of Stuart Pearson who some joked about saying he transferred from ManU to East Ham Memorial hospital ( in reference to his injury record at WHU ).

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)

Onebilly, I have not contested the result of Trump’s win in 2024 and as far as I’m concerned the results of the elections in 2016, 2020 and 2024 were all legal and above board. Though it is worthy of comment that Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 but won the electoral college vote clearly. You, bi...

Re: Potter Out

It’s rather silly of us to expect Potter to exhibit qualities managing us that he did not really display at Brighton and certainly did not at Chelsea. If Potter makes us a top half of the table team, and a positive goal difference would be a requirement, he would actually be exceeding reasonable exp...

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)

MA, you have an interesting view about Trump. He does not seem to worry too much about Russia gaining  permanent advantage from military invasion rather as he does little or nothing the curb the over zealous actions of the IDF in Gaza.  Trump is hardly a pacifist and though he does not want to waste...

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)

Onebilly, so the stupid voters in the USA are those that opposed Trump.

Thanks for clearing that up.

That neatly wraps up the 2024 PotUS election whereby the narrow majority were terrified and the narrow minority are stupid.

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)

If the alternative to   Trump was so terrifying how did he only beat her by 1.5% in terms of the popular vote and to that end why did circa M75 Americans vote for her?

Much better game to watch than last week’s final.

Heartening too to hear Palmer saying how he prefers the risk reward passing game to the sideways and backwards stuff.

Personal choices so no objectivity on display here.

I will discount anything American except for Catch 22.

Topping that is Bridge over the river Kwai.

However Das Boot is my personal favourite.

I can see Zirkzee as a spearhead of a team challenging for promotion from the Championship. In which case Man U need to hang to him for the season after next.

Well done Palace, it’s just such a shame that yet another controversy, the inconsistent application of the keeper handball outside the area incident, will always be a distraction from their achievement.

As fans it’s difficult to be objective when assessing our players but as Larry Grayson used to say he seems a nice boy.

So, good bloke that Tomas is, right now which other prem clubs would have him as an automatic starter, several, or more?
