RIP
I will always remember his vicious cut shot.
The ball certainly stayed hit as it rocketed towards the boundary.

Jack Leach took more first class wickets last season than Will Jacks has taken in his entire career.

"Sounds about right given that a socialist created fascism."
That is most laughably ignorant thing I have read today whch takes some doing as I went on here this morning.
Might I suggest that you read a book or two.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
There was a good stat during last nights game.
The bears have forced the most turnovers so far this year with 25 with the Jets last on one with none on American soil.

One for all you bass aficionados: 'Tomorrow at 9pm a new three part documentary series ‘Greatest Basslines’ will air on Sky Arts - and the first episode is led by Hooky! The series takes audiences on a hypnotic journey through the world of the bass, guided by three extraordinary bassists: Peter Hoo...

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
Love Devin's stuff. First came across him when I heard Shitstorm on the radio and thought, hang on.
My favourite is Empath as it has everything that he does done brilliantly. The tour was fab too.

Spot on with Radiohead MMG.
The change was just a hint of where they'd go.

Re: Bands whose first album was quite different from subsequent material
More recent, human league and simple minds. I saw Simple Minds round about the time Real to Real Cacophony came out and they were dark and interesting then with pounding synths and bass with Jim Kerr howling over the top. Re: Bands whose first album was quite different from subsequent material
Good call on Floyd, Yes & Genesis. On Queen (1), the hints of their later stuff was there, but quite well hidden. Early Purple was much more "restrained"/bluesy than their later stuff. I give you The Sex Pistols. Never mind the Bollocks was indeed the dog's dangly bits. After that??? ...

Re: Bands whose first album was quite different from subsequent material
Huey Lewis and The News. Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the ...
