Forgotten that Wright was selector Always appeared that McCullum & Stokes picked the squad and stuck with it through thick & thin Didnt have a fielding coach (& dropped endless catches) & think Saker was added at the last minute Think they may have gone back to Troy Cooley now. Sri...

Re: The Ashes.
The Ashes repercussions, starting with Luke Wright standing down to spend more time with family. More like falling on his sword. Shoaib was selected, having not played much red-ball cricket over the summer, and then did not get selected to play in a test match. Betthell was selected for the tour at ...

Re: World War II Question
The Japanese really screwed things up. The intent was that they attack Russia from the east. I don't believe Russia could have sustained a 2 front war. I guess with Pearl Harbour they underestimated the US. Remember Germany then declared war on the US and not the other way round. Japan were at war...

Re: World War II Question
Six ships were lost in th Falklands War because the RAF did not have air supremacy, so you could imagine the carnage if the Allies did not have air supremacy at D-Day Operation Overlord is a hard read, becuse it is such a complex operation, as are the Russian and Spanish civil wars, with so many fac...

Re: World War II Question
D-Day was a success due to air supremacy. Had the Allies had no air supremacy, then the loss of ships and men would have been unsustainable .
Pure conjecture to say that Operation Sealion would have failed if the Germans had air supremacy

No, they would not make a difference in 1939, maybe late 1940. No one was ready for war other than the Axis powers If you want to read anything about the military history of the 20th century, read Sir Anthony Beevor, an award-winning author and military historian. He was the first to get into the so...

Re: The Rain in Spain comes with two derailed trains
The outer rail on the LH track, as you look at it, should not be higher than the inner rail; it should be "Flat" on straight track. The carriage wheels will unload from the rails, which is called a twist and when trains fall off Due to carriage lengths and the distance between train wheel...
