Guilherme Departs
West Ham United confirms that Luis Guilherme has joined Sporting CP on a permanent basis. The 19-year-old Brazilian moves to Portugal having made 18 appearances for the Hammers since joining from Palmeiras in June 2024. The Club would like to thank Luis for his contribution and wish him every success for his future career.

19 and would have made a better captain than Bowen the church mouse. There you go again going on about smashing a 19 year old boy...wrong unHe didn't suggest that though, did he? He was talking about an ex WH player, perhaps faring better elsewhere.
I'd reign those deviant wank bank fantasies in if I were you. Not a good look.
Anyway, a 19 year old is FAR too old (by at LEAST 10 years) for you son. Better off sticking to a demograph you can actually catch, subdue, and make 'sweet love' to (in your mellon, anyway).
Tik tok.

Seems he was considered too valuable to stick in the U21s or out on loan at a lower level Club, and that if he wasn't ready to have immediate impact, he'd have to be sold since we can't afford to have 20m of talent in a 'development' stage (where if he doesn't develop that value just erodes further).
It's a ridiculous saga all around. A totally unsuitable buy by Steidten that was inapprorpiate for the Club. And then compounded by the Club not taking proper stock of the situation presented and then doing things properly with the player concerned.
Good luck to Luis in the future. Hope he becomes a top player we can all look back on and wonder what on earth we were doing, and that we get some kind of minor future windfall off the back of his future success.
Yup, it was the sort of buy Chelsea do where it matters not a jot if he's ready or if he cost a lot, they will just loan him out to Strasbourg or somewhere similar to develop him, likewise Brighton where he's identified as the perfect replacement to say Mitoma and sits in their system with no pressure for a few years or again loaned. Not chucked onto the bench of a struggling side and then thrown on and expected to do something with 10 mins to go here and there.

If you read those two sentences and take "smashing a 19 year old boy" from it your a much sicker deviant than I'd have ever believed was possible.

Re: Guilherme Departs
Always thought it bizarre that he wasn’t played in the u21’s to get SOME match sharpness
When he did get picked for the first team he hadn’t played for months
Usual West Ham bonkers
Good luck to him

Clueless as usual..sullivan and brady are not football people and most club owners are not football people so who is responsible? Steidten found him so who picked up from there? What is Noble's job title and what is he doing? 3 managers in 18 months hasnt helped either.
The u21 set up definitely ain't for home grown only... that Luiazio fella or whatever his name was played there for about 4 years!
And Kante which is also Steidtens lad to be fair to him on that one who could yet be something, maybe.

Re: Guilherme Departs
Think the plan is get out flat and then go for the Taty bloke who may add some goals for a survival bid. 3 managers haven't rated LG now so plan will be to put all the eggs in the Lazio's bloke basket and stay up and rebuild in summer.
Rinse and repeat

Re: Guilherme Departs
Essentially just balanced the books on what we owe I suspect. It's a net zero transfer with a bet they'll sell him later.
We've basically given him away.

Re: Guilherme Departs
That’s a classy goodbye from a kid who owes us nothing and has probably been pretty unhappy here. I’m sure we only saw a fraction of what he could do and he couldn’t have had a worse situation here in which to try and showcase any of his talents. We treated him piss poorly and as said it’s symptomatic of how atrociously we were and continue to be run. It’s embarrassing.
Good luck to him. I am sure he will shine or at least be better in a more stable and nurturing situation.

Yeah. It was idiotic. If you're going to bring in an expensive 18 year old right winger and already have the likes of Kudus and Bowen then there should be a plan to develop him properly, not have him picking splinters out of his arse for the next 18 months.
Whose responsibility is it anyway? Managers have such a short shelf life these days that most don't care about developing players. It's another reason why the club needs to have a proper director of football overseeing things.

Very sad to read this.
Sporting are very good at developing players and selling them young for a fortune. Just watch them do this with Guilherme.

Smells like a desperate attempt to get the lad's wages off the books and help Sullivan's cash flow model.
Bet he blossoms when given a proper, professional chance.
