West Ham United confirms that Luis Guilherme has joined Sporting CP on a permanent basis. The 19-year-old Brazilian moves to Portugal having made 18 appearances for the Hammers since joining from Palmeiras in June 2024. The Club would like to thank Luis for his contribution and wish him every success for his future career.

This feels a miserable example of our Club in recent times.
A lad of 19, still eligible for our kids team for another 2 years, flogged despite having made multiple promising appearances for the first team, at a time when we lack quality out wide.
Yes we overpaid, but that isn't the fans or Luis' fault. The Club horribly failed to develop him, and has once again sold at a loss despite a player who still has the scope to improve and showed in some brief cameos that there was enough there to build in.
Where was the loan? Where was the chance to play regularly in the U21s? Where was the consistency?
A shambolic episode from the Club.
