"A bit under. Whatever, it's a 2 days trip, even if it's one of the closer European cities."

So why do YOU think there is a big lack of interest? Isn't it a 4 hour flight?

"Manuel 3:57 Tue Oct 17 Get what you're saying - I've never managed to get a ticket for an away game in Europe, and also worked in Athens for a few years, so really looking forward to it. Just thought 1600 tickets wasn't many and would be snapped up, considering we're massive!"

"Snare - Take your point, but there is just something a bit dull about group games in Europe, and after two previous years in Europe maybe the hardcore are losing a bit of enthusiasm about paying out and jumping on planes to watch a game of football? The knock out rounds will be totally different."

Can't believe this game has gone down to 10 points and still not sold out. Any idea how many tickets have been sold?

"eastend joker 6:52 Thu Oct 12 I wouldn't bother, really not worth the risk. They don't even allow away supporters for Greek League matches, in Athens at least, too much aggro."

"Talking to someone last night whose in laws live in Piraeus and has been to games there, I wouldn't get a ticket in the home end. I would have done it for most of the other European aways if necessary, but not this one."

"eastend joker 6:52 Thu Oct 12 I might try and do the same. I think there might be a chance in the home end, even if it could be a bit iffy. Bit of a different animal, but Sevilla was fine, and I was back in a tapas bar ten minutes after the game finished, unlike our fans who were kept in for a hour. This mob will probably keep us in longer."

I see there is now a compulsory bus from the centre of Athens to the stadium now that must be paid for in addition to ticket from the club .

Alfs Bradford City. Got an assist after 5 mins of first match being played on the right wing where they'd never played in their life so that was a good start. Blackburn Rovers at home tomorrow.

"You can get a flight Tues-Fri from BHX with Aegean, £212. Careful with wearing your colours out there, it can get quite tasty - to the extent that no away fans are allowed, at least in the Athens games. I worked there for a bit and went to Olympiakos v Panathanikos a couple of years back (friend got me a ticket, used his tax payer id etc to get it), travelling from Athens to Piraeus, not a sign that there was a football match on until you reached the metro station for the game, at which point people unzipped jackets to reveal shirts, scarfs came out of pockets etc. Stay safe everyone"

"Cheers Manuel - only one night, but hopefully I’ll have the Friday to look around a bit. I like that this comp throws up places that I’d probably never visit otherwise. And fair play to Brighton who took a decent amount to Marseille. Somewhere else I’d probably never visit unless we played out there."
