"Antonio needs to put in a proper shift today to justify his start, this 2 teams thing is a bit too predictable for my liking."

No surprises. I’d like Kudus on for Antonio after 60 minutes.

"We haven't taken a real pasting so far this season and we do look hard to beat. They are short a few key players and we are pretty much full strength. I hope tactical naivete and silly mistakes aren't what cost us (Aguerd I'm looking at you!!). I'm going for a 2-1 narrow victory to us, but I wouldn't be upset at a draw. COYI"

No point in watching now as most people on here have predicted a thumping. I’ll walk the dog instead.

I wouldn't be surprised if Antonio sits this one out which will give Moyes the perfect excuse to blood Kudus from the start with Bowen up top.

"Definitely a team that plays the way Moyes hates, we will either win this narrowly or get thumped."

"Can see us going into an early two-goal lead only to lose this by the odd goal as Moyes bottles it and tells everyone not to make any silly mistakes. The match thread might hit 300 posts, mind you."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread - Preview
All the talk & the build up will be about them. They’re a big strong side so we cannot rely on set plays. Get Paqueta in the game and maybe we can pull off a surprise. No silly errors today please.

"A big challenge for us. Wouldn’t think that we’d want to sit back and counter in this game. Gotta battle and close them down quickly…. Tough game to call, they could beat us handily, yet we could show up and pull out a nice win. I’m going with my heart on this and predicting a 2-1 win."

"They're in good form but they'll be pretty pleased with a draw, I'd take a draw but think we could do these Tottenham of the north jumped up murder aficionado dickheads."

"Quite pleased Gordon is out, he’s a fairly decent premiership player, but a Champions league level diver."

When Newcastle are good they are very good. I don't think we want to sit back and offer them encouragement. If Wilson is out then that is a blessing as he always scores against us. I hope we don't go with a half fit and ineffective Antonio. He has to be fit and on it if he is being picked to start. Set plays will be our threat if we can win enough of them. If we can get a win here then it's a good result and puts us as a team who can challenge a top 8 position.

I think this and the villa game will be the first real test of where we actually are as a team. These two teams Spuds and Brighton are the teams we need to finish above if we want to be in Europe next season and with the CL going to 5 and the rent boys and Man Utd seemingly imploding we’d never have a better chance considering the squad we have. Also if we are still in with a shout in jan I think it would help the board to push the boat out get two fullbacks and a striker in in jan. If we can nick 4 points from these two difficult games I think even the most pessimistic fans would start to believe that a good season could be on the cards
