"Start off great, take the lead. Half time comes and the inspiring team talk begins of ""lets do all we can to invite the other team on and earn a point"" AWFUL fucking ref decision or non decision of Guimeares who on any other day gets sent off. AWFUL fucking ref decision on Paqueta and Tonali which not only stopped us break 3 vs 2 but led to Newcastle equalizer. AWFUL fucking ref decision not spotting the blatant push in the back of Aguerd for second goal. MOMENT of individual brilliance to save Moyes wanky fucking tactics again. REPEAT next game."

We will always be better last 15 when a goal down. It’s the only time that Moyes allows players to play with freedom to try and snatch a point.

I've just read that Soucek touched the ball 15 times with 8 completed passes and the goal Also read this Mohammed Kudus’ game by numbers vs. Newcastle [14 minutes]: 90% pass accuracy 15 total touches 1 dribble completed 1 chance created 1 goal We were so much better the last 15

"Antonio I’d agree, although injured yesterday, is more of a problem than Soucek right now who is notching goals. But the trade off in Soucek is that if you want to get and keep the ball more then you need better imo. Someone like Mctominay would be an upgrade but he won’t come to us as we are seen as a step down. But a more agile player with better technique. Moyes nw substitutes Soucek so he now perhaps knows he is a weak link in some respects ? Hopefully Steidten has targets in the next window or two to upgrade Antonio, Soucek, Benrahma wide left and Coufal. Maybe another CB too as Oggy will retire and we need back up for Emerson arguably. It was always going to take a few windows and good recruitment for each window which is something we have always struggled to do due to identifying and purchasing the wrong players down the years or simply not having or wanting to invest enough. More recently the investment has increased ( although Rice money a massive factor ) but with Steidten it’s hopefully going to see the shrewd recruitment this summer repeated ?"

"I don’t disagree about Soucek’s all round game, but when he isn’t asked to be the out and out holding midfielder, he clearly does have the knack of getting into goalscoring positions, and whether you rate him or not, that is a skill. When he has Alvarez and JWP behind him, you almost can afford that luxury. Yeh I’d rather Kudus play, but then I’d like to see Antonio dropped as well, and Soucek is certainly offering more than him even if just basing it on goals."

"Perhaps we should say Moyes is part of the reason we are 7th in League, with a good start to winning our Europa League group after winning the Europa Conference League our first silverware in 41 years? Or perhaps that's just drivel from a Moyesi cսnt..."

"Opinions as always but we have to recognise that players like Antonio, Soucek, Coufal and Benrahma are one big reason why we cannot match the better 6 or so teams in the division if we want to play more of a possession based game. A tad harsh on Coufal perhaps but over a season he is a good squad man but like the others mentioned we need better to progress further. Our manager is of course unlikely to change his approach so again longer term we will need to look at someone else but at this point in time he’s doing ok. Now some will point to reborn again Soucek. Yes he’s doing better but it’s what you might call “scoreboard fans” that see only the goals. 8 competed passes in a game is not going to be good enough if we want to progress further. Most elite teams only accept that for an out an out striker who’s job is to score goals. Soucek is a weakness if you want a team to get and keep the ball better. Antonio was unfit but like Soucek, Coufal is technically wanting if we want to improve possession and be capable of playing on the proverbial “front front”. These players and Benrahma, Fornals etc.. are squad back ups at best. So let’s hope Steidten gets better players in future and that will be the time to move Moyes on if, as we think/expect, he cannot progress his approach. In summary, Moyes is part of the problem but with current first 11 “holes” or weaknesses we fall short anyway of being able to go “toe to toe” with the top 6 or so teams. If we had tried to be more expansive yesterday, Newcastle would have been out of sight and caught us on the counter imo"

"Just rewatching on match of the day, hasn’t noticed during the match but there’s a push on Aguerd before the second Newcastle goal. Another decision that could have gone a different way. I thought he just misjudged it, but Isak pushed him. On a plus side, 4 assists already for Coufal"

"Nychammer Still some idiots think this. It's a pity and God knows why Arsenal didn't take Soucek and leave us with the average Rice. Rice offers so much more,he tackles and starts of attacks after receiving the ball than either Alvarez or Soucek. He may not assist but his drives forwards creates many chances. We still miss him end off"

"Murphy confirmibg what a simpleton he is. “Red cards used to be for really nasty and vicious fouls”. He is correct there, but does not seem to understand that cards are given for snide and deliberate fouls to stop attacks. The bloke is an absolute prick."

"Just watching MOTD2 - it confirms how shit Bankes was. Eddie Howe banging on about them being tired after Europe on Wednesday and Shearer and Murphy saying the same too. We played in Europe a day after them, no mention of that. Cunts. At least Shearer says that Guimares should have been sent off."

"point gained imo you can argue if he'd be more attacking we'd be winning more but i dont think its provable. he is what he is and we're about as successful as weve ever been. lets not run before we can walk, we have a decent side, we're building in a ok way and we're hopefully in for an ok season. recent silverware (after a loooong wait!) no room for whinging i dont think, good time to be Hammer COYI!"

"""Moyes will always go defensive on a lead when he gets them in at half time"" Yes - exactly - we started so well and the first half we were superb going forward and perhaps unlucky to be only 1 up. However as in other games, like the midweek Europa, we come out and try to sit back and invite teams on and that has not been working. We conceded after half time midweek, and we conceded again x2 today. We seem to limp along until late subs eventually get on."

Moyes will always go defensive on a lead when he gets them in at half time. He will always have all our side defending corners even when when we are losing. He will always play his favourites. As we get better players we deserve a better manager

"It was clear early on that Antonio was nowhere near fit. Unless he’s properly fit he is always crap, and today he was crap. He should have been subbed at half-time. But boneheaded Moyes stuck with plan B. If Moyes was a decent coach with a brain we could really be going somewhere, but instead we’re doing ok, but that’s despite Moyes, not because of him."

Ref shit and frankly an inexcusable error in the first half. Terrible call for the free kick but defending for it was ten times worse.

"Paqueta, Alvarez and Aguerd superb in the first half. Latter two making two bad errors for their goals in the second half. Bowen quiet and not involved enough. Kudus looked sensational. If he doesn’t start the next game then something has gone wrong."

"That made a change. Us recovering from losing a lead against the Geordies. They were the better footballing side of course but really got ahead via a couple of marginal wrong decisions by the ref. The foul against Paqueta was never a foul for their second goal and their Brazilian lad should of gone off first half for 2 clear yellow card offences. But so great to bring on the lad Kudus. A player that changes games. We also know that Soucek, Coufal, Antonio and Benrahma are not of the quality to be regular league starters but certainly good as squad players for rotation into cup games. Let’s hope we continue the good recruitment since Steidten arrived."

"If we were playing to the very limit of what we are capable of with the players we have, I would be happy with the point today. But we're capable of so much more. I wish Moyes would let them off the leash a bit more (especially in second halves). Paqueta is such a good player but watching him spend most of the second half trying to get his head to punted clearances was very frustrating."
