I thought both sides were at it most of the time. Both could have won. A draw was about right. Even Eddie defended at the end.

"OK I love being at the top end of the table and winning a trophy but in my opinion and what get's my goat with Moyse is the fact that we go 1-0 up and then he has us sit back and defends. I don't think it's to much to ask to continue what we were doing and try to score again, and I think that is why we are getting the 2 different camps on Moyse. Agreed I am thankfull for what we are achieving but that does'nt mean that we can't ask for a few changes that would keep us all happy without upsetting the ship. Like earlier subs and not inviting pressure."

"What are my unrealistic expectations, Tell? Expecting a squad assembled for around HALF A BILLION POUND to play some good, entertaining football so I'm not bored shitless when I'm over there? Go to a home game against someone like Crystal Palace, then come back to me. Until then, shut your jowls up, you crusty old cuntbag."

"we lost twenty league games last season. his experience is as valuable to me as that of allardyce, pulls or any other anti football cսnt of the past. without world class performances by areola, we'd already be on four or five defeats. it's unsustainable playing like this, but the sheep contingent of the fan base (like you) will continue to lap it up as the result is the only thing that matters"

People that accept a style because it is effective are not fundamentalists. The fundamentalist is the person that thinks he knows better than an experienced PL football manager what will work and what won’t. Even when it is proven to be effective.

"the only ones that keep mentioning league position & trophies are you moyes fundamentalists. my only 'expectation' is the cսnt picking the best players available rather than his favourites, and letting them play football instead of a rigid defensive drill for 70+% of every fucking game"

Or it could simply be that your expectations exceed reasonable achievement with the limited players still in the squad maybe?

"My point fraser is that you were exaggerating about Moyes. Yes he's a dor Scottish misery at times but his record apart from last season in PL got us 2x top 7 finishes; 3 seasons of European football; a semi-final and a cup win. Now he's got help buying decent players, I think the style is opening up a bit but we clearly aren't going back to our history of fading & dying. That's down to Moyes. When Moyes' management stops working I'll be calling for his head like everyone else. In the meantime I recognise that he's defence first but improving us every game..."

French international in goal on £100k+ pw 3 centr halves that cost about £100mil Italy international left back on big money 2 Czech internationals Alvarez & JWP international players costing £60mil+ Bowen who just got back into the England squad Paqueta who should now be playing for Man City Kudus who cost £45mil Throw in a bench choc full of big money earners 18% possession in one game, wasn't?"

"Fair enough. I was just picking up on the comment that he’s not getting the best and full potential out of the players which would suggest you think we should be doing better results wise. I totally get the criticism of style and that’s something I don’t think will ever change under Moyes but for me the results have been fine. In terms of squad quality I still think we are behind Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City & Newcastle while being on par with Aston Villa so if we are top 8 or 9 then we are probably reaching expectations. If we win a cup this season or finish in the top 7 then we have exceeded expectations based on the squad we have."

Player for player picks Areola Pope Pope Coufal Trippier Trippier Zouma Laschelles Zouma Aguerd Scharr Scharr Emerson Burn Burn Alvarez Tonoli Alvarez JWP Anderson JWP Soucek Longstaff Longstaff Paqueta Guimerize Paqueta Antonio Isaac Isaac Bowen Almiron Bowen Probably the most even line up in the PL. Hard to call on almost every position. All done on current form Eg Bowen just edges Almiron. Both have GOTM this year. Burn and Scharr over Aguerd and Emerson due to their defence but a close call

"Expectations, I don't have any I just expect us to try and win every game and see where it takes us. It's hard to have expectations and gauge how well we should be doing when the players aren't let off the leash fully and I can't see how good we can be. I expect us to get out of the group in Europe then it's down to the draw like any cup, he has done a good job there no doubt. I loved the way we approached the first half in Freiburg.. We're capable. Why do posters like Willtell say we shouldn't go gung ho, I've never ever seen one person suggest this.. There's a massive gulf between what we do and gung ho..."

"fraser, so will ask again. (My questions aren’t related to the “Conversation” you are having with Willtell btw) You don’t like the style of football which is fair enough so let’s just focus on results alone then. With this group of players what would be your expectation in terms of League position and European football?"

"Spitting out my dummy? OK I didn't realise not liking something and thinking somebody isn't beyond criticism is spitting out my dummy.. I suppose you were spitting out yours too when you didn't like stuff and criticised him last season.. But again now you're happy with him, you set the benchmark and anyone who disagrees where that line you set is spitting out the dummy."

"Well it's shit like against Bournemouth that fucks me off, they're an appalling team, we were so much better than them until we scored, then we sat back and invited them on and were lucky to get a point when three were there for the taking.. Sunday we started of ok but then went about 40 minutes without having a shot on goal, maybe more.. We were losing and still playing a player at ten who is more use defensively than attacking he had 8 completed passes... Why wait till 15 minutes from the end to try and salvage something and be submissive when our players our just as good as theirs. There's an argument for it while we're one up.. But they were all over us and he did nothing to change it, we were offering zero threat... They then scored 2.. For 15 minutes we still offered zero threat... They scored in the 62nd minute.. It took us to the 80th minute to have our first shot after they took the lead, which was a free kick.. We looked the likely winners at the end, imagine if we tried that earlier when it was clear we were carrying no threat at all."

fraser mate. You're spitting out your dummy and making straw man arguments. All I'm saying is that Moyes has brought us to a stage of almost unprecedented success. I criticised Moyes for his pathetic buys and mind-numbing tactics because the players he bought were largely not up to it. The club have cured that by getting him Tim Steidten to buy the players for him like top clubs do. Then tactically we are still cautioous but going gung-ho only ever means getting stuffed. I'm enjoying our teams good determination and relative success thanks to a dour miserable Scot. Get used to it because if he carries on the way he's going he will get a longer contract...

"Will tell - so last season you was criticising him and now you're not no one else should because you've decided he's beyond it? If you really think he's getting the best and full potential out of the group of players he has and beyond any criticism, and can't be bothered to discuss it with you."

"Except that's not really true is it fraser? I'd say Antonio, Bowen and Paqueta are 3 attacking players for a start. And how many did Newcastle have? Let's get this straight. I was critical of Moyes last season in PL but somewhere down the line you have to say that he's mostly been proved right in his approach and has reached a semi-final and won a Cup final as well as 2 top 7 finishes. Tell us who you think is going to improve that record then?"

"Tomshardware - do fuck off he could manage 10000 games of football, wtf has that got to do with not liking his negative approach which means we had 2 shots on goal in the first 75 minutes and just two attacking players on the pitch."
