Big reveal where the mystery or expectation failed to match up
"Banksy has, seemingly been outed recently: British greeting card company Full Colour Black and its owner Andrew Gallagher have filed a libel claim against anonymous artist Banksy in the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court over an Instagram post the British artist made in November 2022. The existence of the lawsuit was first reported by Daily Mail, which seemingly attempted to reveal the name of the artist. The publication named Banksy as Robin Gunningham, Now I read the article eagerly but the minute I knew the name I realised I had benefitted in no way in particular and had traded knowledge for urban mystery. It was all a massive disappointment and felt flat about it. Over to you WHO, what big reveal or mystery solved left has left you feeling meeeeer!"

I think Banksy was great. The save against Pele in 1970 was miraculous

Re: Big reveal where the mystery or expectation failed to match up
"Loved the Banksy Vs Robbo documentary. Fair play to him, but he really did rip that French bloke off. I remember when Bristol City council were moaning about having to stump up 20k to get rid of one of his early creations years back, at the end of the M32. Twats. Even to get rid of it, but fuck knows who they were paying for it to be 20 grand. They got rid of another of his as well that was on a busy roundabout. Both of those were some of the better things he's done, simple, but great style and context on the surroundings. And now the same council flog his name for all it's worth."

"His name has been out there for fucking years hasn't it? Apart from the Girl With Balloon prank, which if the auction house and buyer weren't in on it was borderline genius imo, most of the 'value' of the his work is just where he manages to scrawl it, it's technically nothing special. It's a good case study in how to make above average skills suddenly worth 'legendary artist' money. Fair play to him, clearly a clever chap."
