Re: Your bank
"I use First Direct. Good customer service. You speak to British people when you phone them (mostly) I also use Starling for day to day spending. That's because it's very difficult with most conventional banks to see what you are spending and how much you have left. The transaction don't show up for days. With Starling, as soon you buy something it's deducted from balance instantly. So when you log on to the app you can see what you have left. I know some other banks have started to do this, but Starling also has an app that breaks down your spnding by catogery. You can see how much you spend in supermarkets/restuarants in a pie chart etc."

Re: Your bank
I am so lazy. I've been with Natwest for 50 years and have never thought about switching my account. I pay £2:00 a month service charge and haven't been in the red for over 8 years!! How easy is it to switch banks?

Re: Your bank
"First Direct for years, no complaints at all. Actually I'll priase them - they kept blocking a big bet I was trying to place a few years ago, despite being on the phone with me saying it was unblocked. I didn't get to place the bet, which came in, so I complained and they paid out what I would have won. Can't fault that. On the other hand, presumably there are a few WHOers who keep all their money at home in cash?"
Re: Your bank
"Been with Santander for years, pays interest and cashback, never had a problem and their mobile app is very good."
Re: Your bank
"I use Barclays and Nationwide. I’m basically too lazy to change but their both alright. I have the premier account with both - I used to get free coffees and English Heritage entrance with the Barclays one but they seem to have stopped all that, but it’s okay because they actually pay me each month for the privilege. I have to pay for the Nationwide one, but I get car breakdown, mobile phone and travel insurance with it."
