Would you offer Moyes a new contract?

Post LJC »

"With David Moyes contract finishing at the end of the season and we fast approach the half way stage of the season, would you offer Moyes a new contract? (Might be worth doing as a WHO Poll). I personally wouldn’t, interesting to see Potter as huge favourite for our next manager and him turning down other roles (although could be waiting for England). Note Alonso sitting in the second favourite."

"466m spent in the last 6 years and still getting thrashed by the likes of Villa. Moyes was a Centre Half and we can't defend even though his whole ethos is to play the game to defend deep as possible, not worry about conceding possession and to rely on counter attacks which usually breakdown in the final third. Moyes is no better than Allardyce. In fact if Allardyce was given £466m we would be in a better place. The football was equally terrible with Allardyce but he didn't have £466m to spend what is Moyes excuse?"

Could you imagine Arteta persevering with Antonio and Soucec all this being loyal to certain players doesn't wash in todays cut throat football world. He just ruins what were decent players like Fornals and Benhrama no wonder they look as miserable as fuck on the bench.

"On the basis that we have been in Europe 3 years running; won a European competition; avoided relegation twice and sell out to tourists at home then he will need to get relegated for Sullivan to get rid. On the basis that the football is turgid; there is a high level of coaching staff turnover; there is no chance of progessing from the successful youth set up; our best midfield player is parked on the left wing to accommodate our worst player (although Antonio, also a regular starter, is challenging for that title); talent is either stifled, parked or sold; the European trophy we won we should not really have been competing for with good decisions the previous season; and that true supporters, not the tourists who are either neutral or watching the 'big' clubs, are pissed off he should be shown the door whilst he can still leave with a semblance of dignity."

lowlife 3:06 Mon Oct 23 Have to agree. The South African Rugby Manager would have probably taken off Antonio after 15 minutes the other day! You do have to wonder who is buying some of these players especially after some of Moyes comments. Some players don't get any criticism whereas Moyes makes sniping public comments about others which is wrong.

"Zico - I reckon his ability to change will get even worse. He‚Äôs too old and set in his ways to think about changing, and will become increasingly stubborn with that refusal to change. He needs to go asap. We‚Äôve got great players, but a mediocre (at best) manager. Starting Soucek and Antonio continuously regardless of form and what we have on the bench is inexcusable. Was Kudus a Moyes choice? He‚Äôs such a stubborn cսnt that I could see him purposely not picking him if he wasn‚Äôt. There is no other logical explanation. He can fuck off with the ‚Äòhe‚Äôll be with us a while, he‚Äôll get plenty of opportunities‚Äô shit."

"The trouble is, he's been successful. He does enough, he has credit in the bank again with Sullivan and ultimately it papers over the cracks of performances like yesterday. Yes of course if the right manager was available and willing to join then id be happy to part ways, but for that to happen I also think Sullivan needs to sell up or it's just going to be frying pan to fire with his club."

"Always the question any club should have when a managers deal is running out is can we do better? If the club is run properly, by professionals, that want the very best for this football club, with its resources, location, fan base etc, then the answer has to be yes."

"Fair do’s, he got us to our first proper trophy in 43 years. But that doesn’t take away from the fact his management in the league has been in massive decline. Thanks Moyes but time to do one."

One of the YouTube channels made a valid point the other day. Moyes has a lot of control at the moment. Surely any contract offered would remove that. Moyes insists on control. So maybe won't accept
