Re: Youtubers
"Nurse, that's pretty niche porn. 10 hours!!! Like bruuno I also listen/watch to a lot of history and military history channels, buit I choose them carefully at bedtime (way past it now) so they are not too long. Also finding out how to disable autoplay was a godsend, but the ads are fucking annoying. Most of the geopolitical channels i follow are de-monetised so rarely have ads"

Re: Youtubers
I’m partial to Justin Hawkins Rides Again I’m not a darkness fan but Justin reviews music in a way that is really interesting and he is a good guy
Re: Youtubers
"I like Drachinifel when going off to sleep / naval historian. Also listen to a lot of audiobooks, currently Jamaica inn. YT is great for military history and history docs in general plus old stuff like gone fishing. That’s not even considering the music of which the more obscure stuff can be found on YT rather than Spotify My YT subscription is the best £15 I spend each month and I rarely use another other media apps."

"Nurse i used to listen to some YT stuff like that to go to sleep, then after about 2 months I tried without and went to sleep fine. Probably just got me over an unusual bad sleep pattern. My favourite was just listening to rain on a tarpaulin or in a forest. Weird really because I've never experienced problems sleeping before, I usually fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow"

Re: Youtubers
"Cough - I don't see any ads. I pay a subscription which gets rid of ads and allows you to minimise the app and still see/hear it. I subbed mainly for this feature because it allows me to listen to nature soundtracks while I sleep. Helps me drift off. It's lovely going to sleep to the sound of a raging blizzard, thunderstorm, waves on a beach, crickets, etc, etc. Or a train going over tracks. You get the idea. Cured my insomnia, actually."

"My brother in law has nearly 1000 subscribers listening to him talking about his lifetime of drugs and prison, people seem to like it, he also got asked do a podcast, had an enquiry about making a documentary recently did a talk in a remand home. He’s been a waster all his life but this has given him some sense of purpose"

"Crowley - Haha! Just watched him. Is he for real? Manuel - on the face of it, I don't think there can be much difference between watching YouTube for hours or watching soaps, dancing or cooking competitions, or even feature films. Happy to accept I'm a lazy, silly sod though."

"Nurse Ratched 7:11 Wed Oct 18 You should check out Drain cleaning Australia, Imagine Steve Irwin if he cleaned trains instead of rescuing dangerous animals. Its the enthusiasm for a job most of us wouldn't do for any money that makes it so watchable."

"Love a bit of Geoff Marshall also, good content and well presented. Marcus Brownlee is great for techie stuff and Rick Beato does some good stuff on music."
Re: Youtubers
"Scorch, I watch Geoff's stuff as well, gotta love his enthusiasm for everything train related. I watch the Millennial Farmer from Minnesota and a bunch of boating channels from high end yachts to someone building one from scratch Anything war related like WWII planes and tanks (calling Northern Sold, where is the old cսnt?) Load of reaction music channels in fact anything reaction related."

Re: Youtubers
Geoff Marshall. Does loads of stuff about the London underground/trains. Some of it bizarrely interesting. Very geeky. Some fun stuff on there too about him doing the every stating in one day challenge (world record holder twice) Can spend hours and hours watching. I got into watching videos of chefs reviewing recipes which was quite fun.

Re: Youtubers
"I love YouTube. I've just finished watching Steve Miller do an acoustic version of The Joker with a 12 string guitar. I avoid the politics and ranty stuff. Many of the channels I like can be best described as 'ordinary people doing their jobs very well'. Such as the Scottish bloke who trims cows' hooves or the supermodel-looking Texas girl who rescues/removes beehives using no protective clothing and her bare hands. There's Mousetrap Monday - eccentric fella reviews the effectiveness of mousetraps from history, modern traps on the market, and his viewers' own inventions that they send him. Useless Farm - funny Canadian Angelina Jolie lookalike with her 'farm' of pets, including a psychotic emu and rooster. I also like looking at machines, such as hydraulic presses crushing various items. Big fan of watching ultra slow-mo videos of water droplets splashing. Can watch those for hours on end."
