From my limited understanding if a person creates a calibration you are now dependant on that person maintaining the links within the calibration. Anyone out there that knows better please correct me if I ma wrong. By setting up your own kodi you are in charge of keeping the links up to date or delete if they stop working. It's all a little intimidating when you first get going but if you use the pause button on the you tube video and a pencil and paper to take notes and write down URLs it all falls into place.

"Steer away from other peoples calibrations if you want to control your settings. This video on you tube taught me how to set up kodi and I found it very useful to get me started, Once you see this one there a couple of others that will help you set up other servers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr5Mz2Yci4c"

"Be careful, if you decide to go this route, on who you get to this calibration. Take a look on AV Forums before deciding to pay someone to do it. There used to be a DVD you could use yourself called DVE Essentials which had a load of test screens etc so you could set your TV up, but I'm not too sure if they've done a 4K version of it yet."

"£1700 is a good price, that's come down since January probably because the new versions out now. They've got a good remote that works a bit like a cordless mouse and brings a pointer up on the screen. Easy to go between different inputs!"

"There are some settings that you can use to address the lag, which pretty much reduce it to nothing. But it's a bit of messing about with the menus. The newer 55 inch with the speaker along the bottom is a good bit dearer than the old one about £1k and a bit which seems a bit steep, it almost the same price as the old 65 inch. Definitely ask about the ball lag on both if you can find someone sensible in Currys or Richer Sounds might even be doing the flat screen version now! They weren't when I bought mine so had to go to Currys! Bummer man!"

Ah ok I've Googled ball lag and it seems a few 4k TV's suffer this !! I don't really want to pay that money and have my football/cricket ruined so will bring up this problem when I purchase.

"Ted I bought the LG oled in January great tell but a bit of ball lag on the cricket etc. Someone on here said that had been addressed on the new version which also has the speaker along the bottom of the screen. The new version is pricier than the one I bought in January, but it's probably a 10 yr investment so well worth it I think Go for it Ted!"

Anyone ever had to re-login to sports nation/mania and discover that they've forgotten their password and then spend hours waiting for that password reset email that never comes ?

I never saw the need for a Smart Tv when I had my Amazon Fire Box with everything on it I wanted. I love my tech but TV's i'm just not bothered about for some reason.
