Re: Kodi XBMC
"Apologies in advance I am an old fart. I was back in the UK last week and my brother in law gave me an Amazon Fire TV remote and a little USB (not an Amazon Fire TV stick) that he said he plugged straight into the back of his TV and he could watch thousands of channels. The USB will not plug straight into the HDMI on my Samsung Smart TV here in Switzerland and I have tried the shops for a HDMI-USB converter without luck. Before I look on the net, will that work and what should I look for? Thanks for any advice."

"Meant to say - a Raspberry Pi costs about £35 with power supply and SD card - whereas Ted's toy costs about £1,600!"

LeroysBoots 8:18 Wed Sep 21 If you look back through this thread there's loads of people buying boxes all the time. If you like the Amazon set-up then get an Amazon fire box - similar to a stick but faster and has an Ethernet port. Or see what Ted thinks of his new box. Me - I have 3 Raspberry Pies that I have had for 3 years and still going strong. The latest ones are much faster. No problem playing 1080p movies off my NAS - all connected with Powerlines.

It took me 2.5 hours to re-install with software (Apollo AIO) which is a much better user friendly platform. Apollo is 615MB, I have 10MB upload BB and 100MB download but this fucker was downloading at 170kb/s Got it all sorted as Payet scored and I read it on Twitter."

"No SN stream because the owners wouldn't let the filming be sent anywhere, atmosphere is embarrassing. Every other EFL game tonight there is a stream for. YOU MUST PROTECT THE BRAND!!"

LeroysBoots 10:46 Tue Sep 20 The main cause of buffering is using wifi - even if your router is next to your Kodi equipment. You are much much better using a Kodi box that has an Ethernet port on it and either run a cable direct to your router or use Powerline adaptors.
