"Probably best to delete Kodi off Rossal, reboot and do a fresh install. I do that from time to time to keep things running smooth. kodi.tv website has all the previous versions of kodi if you want to stick to 16.1"
Re: Kodi XBMC
"Rossal 1:09 Wed Feb 22 Rossal, install the Echo Wizard (everyone should have that installed - it's excellent). The Maintenance Tools section will do what you're looking for (Clear cache, purge packages etc.) ...and, if you need to install any addons, the wizard will do it for you. Watch the vid here spacer"

Re: Kodi XBMC
Kinell nothing's simple is it... So... are we saying on Android devices you turn updates off and do it yourself? (iphones / tabs) And the Firesticks likewise? Or can you NOT turn it off on the sticks? What about the Amazon Fire BOX..? TV is about 5 years old (Toshiba Regza 37RV635D). I was all set to do this until the Kodi v17 issue arose... I'm trying to get started here but I don't want to drop a bollock at the first fence...

Re: Kodi XBMC
OK fair enough it does update itself on Android devices if you have automatic updates turned on in play store but for Windows devices you have to do it manually Sorry

Re: Kodi XBMC
ted seemed to suggest that his system was updating to 17 'automatically'..? I take it it's possible to 'lock' onto 16.1 until such time as... ? Or is the update purely on demand?

Re: Kodi XBMC
Wont be going to 17 until it really starts to slow down and addons no longer work. Wont be anytime soon. I've never had any issues with Kodi at all.
