"Hammers1993 4:47 ~ Very good points there I watch streams on Kodi of all the West Ham games available I pay the (very reasonable) subscription for SportsNationHD & now pay a small subscription for a VPN I watch very few games other than West Ham & like to watch the full match live It would be totally impractical for me to see most of our games now as I used to, now that I live about 270 miles away There are many of our supporters who live abroad or would like to follow the club when on holiday I would have no hesitation in paying a reasonable subscription just to watch our games, particularly as the revenue generated would be of benefit to our club"

Spandex Sidney you can - have a look here https://seo-michael.co.uk/how-to-install-vpn-on-a-firestick-ipvanish-vpn/

""" Reply Hammers1993 4:47 Thu Mar 9 Re: Kodi XBMC If these companies are that bothered and what with the ease of services such as red button these days why do Sky for example just not set up a system where you can specify what team you want to buy games for on a ""season tv subscription"" basis."" Exactly, its just like the music industry, slow to innovate & then they wonder where all the customers went!"

Re: Kodi XBMC
I don't think you can put a VPN on a Firestick/Box. I think I might need to get a new box OR can you by another router and whack a VPN on that?

Re: Kodi XBMC
because of archaic laws/rules at the FA etc saying that games cannot be broadcast at 3pm on a Saturday

"If these companies are that bothered and what with the ease of services such as red button these days why do Sky for example just not set up a system where you can specify what team you want to buy games for on a ""season tv subscription"" basis. Say ring up and get the ""West Ham TV Season Pass"" and that gives you access to every Home and Away West Ham game for the season, they have coverage at these games anyway (as we all know) so why not make money off it? I am sure many more people would buy something like that if it was affordable. I have a season ticket and go to some away games so probably wouldn't be worth it for me but I imagine there are loads of people for one reason or another who can't get to many games who would definitely buy something like that if they offered it? Big reason why people don't buy the sports package is because the majority of the games aren't of the team you support so you end up not watching thus not getting your value for money. I imagine the ""Manchester United TV Season Pass"" would be a big seller due to the amount of fans who live nowhere near Old Trafford and not being able to travel there every weekend."

"Its all well and good demanding that people pay the subscription for Sky or BT but unless you follow the so called big teams, you won't see games every week anyway apart from the 5 or 6 games or whatever over the season. Either that or reduce their prices.....how likely is that?"

Re: Kodi XBMC
Any idiots guide/recommendations for a vpn on the Amazon fire stick please. I only have exodus and more importantly SportsNation HD on Kodi Or do I not need to worry yet? Cheers
Re: Kodi XBMC
the premier league opened the door by selling overseas rights and as long as these overseas companies stream to their customers we will be able to view what they broadcast whether direct or via VPN I can see the best VPNs getting more expensive over the coming year

Re: Kodi XBMC
"It was inevitable that this would happen Sky & BT must be losing a fortune as more & more people are turning to streams I started using PrivateInternetAccess as my VPN about a month ago costing just under Ôø?30 pa I should imagine, as has been said, it's the stream providers that they'll go after though I'm not sure how they can get a trace on them When they got rid of the old pirate radio stations in the 60's, they did it by going after the advertisers, thus starving the providers of revenue"

Re: Kodi XBMC
"Eggbert The ISP will block the access to the server through stopping access to it's IP address/URL - they can't actually shut it down as the server could be anywhere. This is exactly the same as they do at the moment with Pirate Bay and hundreds of other sites. Also, many of the streaming servers are actually virtual servers in a commercial server site used by thousands of different websites. Because most people don't currently use a VPN, ISPs blocking the URL will be very effective. Using a VPN will get around the problem."

"`This decision means that Sky, alongside the UK's other Internet Service Providers (ISPs), will be obliged to shut down the source of illegal streams`. Is this ILLEGAL streams for Sky Sports?? What about NBC etc?? That's nothing to do with SS... also I thought the vast majority of the sources were all abroad anyway??"

Re: Kodi XBMC
Stuibbo Most people don't use a VPN therefore the source will still get closed I imagine Ultimate sources are the same VPN or not
Re: Kodi XBMC
"Surely they target this by blocking traffic from that source (typically what an ISP does and how they handled sites like PirateBay)...but to do that they need to know the source of the traffic in the first place. A VPN both encrypts and routes the traffic through an alternate end point, so the traffic looks like it's coming from the VPN and not the banned server?! Using a VPN service you can still access sites like PirateBay (alledgedly) that you can't if not using a VPN."
Re: Kodi XBMC
"Stubbo they are targeting the sources, so having a VPN won't matter if the source of the stream is shut down."

Not done it yet, but this looks like a way to setup a VPN on a Windows PC without needing a fancy new bit of Router kit: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/create_a%20virtual_wireless_router_with_windows.htm Anyone more informed in this kind of networking would be good to hear from (especially if this can be made to work using a wired network routed through the Windows PC and not wireless)."
