I'm not getting a VPN until I have to so I will see if I can watch SNHD this weekend. Great news for the VPN providers!

"Spandex ~ I'm not a techie but there are streams (many totally legitimate) going backwards & forwards all the time A VPN would simply encrypt every stream you're watching making it impossible for your ISP to see which stream you're watching That's my take on it, but I could be wrong!"

"Looks like this weekend we will find out whether the ISPs will be able to block SportsNation HD and others! https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/03/14/uk_new_realtime_live_server_blocking_order/ Surely for a VPN to work it would need to be on your router? If it was on a device, like and android box or whatever the router would still be connecting to the stream they are trying to choke??"

"Madeasy ~ Agreed Mobdro is a great app to have & as you say it can't be downloaded from playstore for some reason. You have to download it direct from their website . The only drawback is that everything is in 480. I often use it for SSN where the picture qualiity isn't too important Raymond ~ It's an app that just simply runs in the background. Have a look at:- https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ I found I had to download it as an APK (whatever one of those is!) on one of my boxes where the other one was just an ordinary download to Android I also put it on my tablet & PC's but never have it turned on on my PC's Apparently it makes it more secure if you use it on a tablet when roaming, though I don't roam much nowadays! I paid around 30usd fot it about a couple of months ago but the pound has slipped a little against the dollar since. You can pay through PayPal It does seem to give better access to foreign TV channels It's easy enough to install & use but not really essential yet"

"Slightly differen tbut i have downloaded modbro to my phone, you cant get it in google play as an app but if you google modbro hpk then download it. i get all the sports channels streamed free over wifi very very easily, no adds no pop ups and easy to use. it isnt just sports but any tv. thoroughly reccomend on a phone. I got one of those firestcik things with kodi and to me they are very clumsy and a waste of time."

I thought I'd just experiment a bit with a VPN in case things changed suddenly so I'd be prepared I have noticed with the one I use (Private investment access) that sometimes you need to switch location between London & Southampton (which are the 2 UK options) If you select location to automatic it doesn't work as well I'm not really convinced either way that a VPN is worth bothering with just yet

I don't think I'll bother with a VPN until it becomes necessary to be honest. After all I'm not doing anything illegal.

Cheers guys. Panic over. I changed the location of my VPN from London to Southampton & everything is running nicely again now! Good advice re maintenance on AresWizard maintenance Raymond It's the 1st thing I do every time I go on to Kodi after I've made sure all the second have updated I would recommend AresWizard to everyone!

All the football streams on Mobdro seem to be working fine but many of the football streams on Kodi are not I generally don't look further than SportsNationHD which is usually 100% reliable but tonight nothing is working on there! Let's hope it's just a blip & nothing to do with Sky's apparent clamp down
