"Having said all that I stream my mania account and HD movies on a Firestick and it's fine 95% of the time. My router is a couple of feet away from the telly. The good thing about the stick is that it's a mass-market consumer device so is very easy for the family to use for iPlayer, Netflix, All4, etc. Good remote control phone app too. Not to say Android boxes aren't, but this is designed with it mind. Plus it's cheap and if it doesn't work you have a receipt and can take it back to Currys."

The_Phantom 10:50 Fri Aug 4 One of the main reasons for not getting a stick is that it can only connect to the internet through wifi. A wifi connection is the prime cause of buffering problems - which gets worse the better quality stream you are watching. A box will have an Ethernet network connection that will enable it to connect via cable to your router. If your router is nowhere near your TV/box then use Powerline adaptors that you plug into electric sockets to do the network connection.

"Agree with the advice about getting a wired connected box, good spec for the price in Alan's post. I use Nvidia Shield but a lot of family & friends have boxes from here... https://droidbox.co.uk/choose-your-droidbox.html Important to check processor & RAM specs."

Rossal The reason why it's only showing the week option as they are letting existing members sign in free for a week if they're subs have expired whilst the payment options are fixed. Type in warmup in the coupon section only once your subscption has expired

"ISP's won't ban anyone. They claimed for years they would over torrents but have given up on that in favour of going after the big boys. I think the PL broadcasting corporation or whoever they are should SELL all 3pm games online to UK punters. A season ticket for £250 a year or something. At the same time, enforce a cap on ticket prices in the PL at say £50 top end and SUBSIDISE the lower leagues more so they can offer cheaper tickets for their games. Make the matches available ""on demand"" and people might be inclined to pay a tenner to go and watch Bury say then watch the Mancs when they get home. Everyone should be happy then."

"Right, complete kodi virgin here. Been contemplating getting this for months/years. Only want it for the Prem footy, films/tv would be a bonus but not essential. With all the warnings of ISPs banning you for watching streamed footy, is it worth my while now getting it still ? Was thnking to get an Amazon fire stick. All help appreciated. Would read whole thread but worry i'd die before finishng it. Cheers in advance."

Yeah seems that even when you select the 1 month or 1 year option it takes you through to only the week showing

"Rossal, given the current climate I wouldn't be signing up to anything longer than a week with these sorts of things. That's probably why they are only offering a week."

Noticed that ManiaRocksHD was playing up earlier but seems OK now (apart from the subscription page which has been down for a while now) I was reading the worst! I think this afternoon's massacre is on ESPN There are also decent streams for that on LiveNet TV & Mobdro

Notice on wookie that a lot of the apps are dead now. Why don't they take them off their build?

"DukeofDevo 8:53 ~ I like the Pulse build off AresWizard Covenant (& Colossus) are easy enough installed off there, but seem to take a while to download (I expect 1001 people are downloading them right now, which will slow everything down) There are some good Video AddOns on Colossus like Echo Documentaries which had previously disappeared"
