For WHO's birders

Post Nurse Ratched »

"I thought you might like this video.

It's a compilation of different birds singing. Beautiful photography. If you expand the 'title' under the video it gives a list of species and the times they pop up in the video. Most of the species are familiar to us in the UK, but there are some 'exotics' (the cranes - wow, what a noise!) It was filmed in Belarus. The guy has a channel you can subscribe to. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and maybe it'll take your mind off you-know-what for a few blessed minutes."

"The Starlings that moved in a couple of days ago have stayed put (pretty sure they are not after me unless they are bing super sneaky). Between them and the Sparrow mob it a bedlam. Also the Jackdaw's second clutch has hatched, they are noisy too when the parents arrive with food. Also had a small group of rock doves, never seen the here before. All Wood Pigeons and Collared Doves. The owls have gone quiet though, I am suspicious..."

"Shit myself earlier (Not literally) Went outside with the clothes airer, chucked a couple of bits on and went to go back indoors, turned round and there was a dead bird on the floor by the door! Literally wasn't there 30 seconds before!! Proper made me jump. I think it was a blackbird!! So I put it on card aided with a broom and chucked it in some bushes next door, back to nature and all that. Then this evening the must have been about 12-13 magpies all having a loud chat in a neighbours tree, weird day for birds today!"

"Blinding sighting of a little owl this week. Cheeky cսnt was 10 metres away staring me in the face for the 20 seconds it took to fumble my camera out of my bag, fucked off as soon as soon as I switched it on of course. Cuckoo heard on three different days, unimaginable from my childhood that that would even be noteworthy."

"Zebthe - the starlings are watching your every move - observing - noting your movements down in small bird notebooks: recording every aspect of your everyday life and habits. When you least suspect it they will strike. Human life dont mean nuffink to these birds. They are ruthless and feral. Worse than geese. If i was you id seriously consider getting off the plot, dissapear - leave town. These starlings are very possibly traveller birds - living in tiny bird caravans - speaking in a rough and guttural tongue - forcing children to box to the death and wearing ill fitting lonsdale bird vests at ostentatious weddings. Run sir. Do not look back."

"gph 11:56 Fri May 15 That is outrageous. Our species is a fucking disgrace. On a lighter note I have a load Strarlings who have descended on the area to make more fun and a bit noisier. Also, the second Jackdaw clutch has hatched. I can hear them through the airvent in my living room that connnects to the disused chimney they are nesting in."

"I dont know what the fuck it was but there was a right burly piss taking bird in my garden earlier- right lary little fucker. It was about a half past four - ive closed down the laptop and gone down to smoke a pipe out the back with a warming cup of earl grey. Ive gone out the back and theres some sort of parakeet / flamingo hybrid perching on my neighbours fence looking at me threateningly - like it wants to hurt my eyes and squacking like two fucking drunk russians having a violent vodka fight outside an off licence. The chopsy little cսnt looked at me with right intent as if to say 'this is my fucking fence / garden / manor now'. Then it flapoed off like a pteradactyl (?) - lary fucker. Probably flew to Canvey. My guinea pig - Nibbles -shit herself , bless her. I said to the lady wife / kamp commandant 'have we still got that air rifle in the loft? I'm going to blow its fucking beak off'. She tutted like she does at everything i fucking say. She hates me & I her."
