Tim Steidten - Confirmed
"OS Tim Steidten appointed West Ham United Technical Director West Ham United is delighted to announce the appointment of Tim Steidten as the Club’s Technical Director. Steidten will be responsible for the Club's overarching player recruitment strategy and scouting department, working closely with Manager David Moyes and Sporting Director Mark Noble. The Technical Director role has been implemented as part of the Club’s continued growth strategy and comes at a key moment in West Ham United’s history, with the Hammers’ victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League earlier this month securing a third successive season in European competition. One of the game’s most-admired football administrators, 44-year-old Steidten brings his own added experience of European football to East London, having previously fulfilled a similar role with Bayer 04 Leverkusen in his native Germany, at a time when the Hammers are enjoying a sustained period of success at both first team and Academy level. Arriving at Leverkusen from Werder Bremen in June 2019, Steidten was responsible for overseeing a pivotal period in the Club’s history, with his data-led approach to scouting yielding some immediate positive results in the transfer market, recruiting a number of unheralded gems, before nurturing them into highly-coveted stars. His arrival is set to complement the strong existing UEFA Europa Conference League winning squad on and off the pitch, with further significant experience and expertise. Moyes said: “On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to welcome Tim to the West Ham United family. He has a strong track record in elite level football and we’re really looking forward to working with him.” Joint-Chair David Sullivan said: “Our goal when we became custodians of West Ham United and moved to London Stadium was to bring silverware to this incredible Club and to regularly compete in European football. We’ve enjoyed some fantastic times in recent seasons, and we aim to continue to grow and evolve across all areas of the Club. Tim’s appointment is key to our wider plans to drive our football strategy forward. We are delighted to welcome such a well-respected name in the game to the Club.” Steidten said: “I am extremely proud to be joining West Ham United, at such an exciting time in this Club’s incredible history. Building on the Club’s recent European success, there is already a fantastic team in place, but also so much ambition – from the Board, the Manager, his staff and the players – to continue succeeding, developing and growing. I cannot wait to play a key part in that. Come on you Irons!”"

Re: Tim Steidten - Confirmed
"It is looking great with Tim and Julen, isn't it? I hope it works out. Reminds me a lot of Pellegrini coming in and he did well the 1st season, but the second wasn't so good. I feel that Tim choosing Julen rather than the other way around with Pellegrini, is healthier. I'm probably asking too much, but I'll be disappointed if we don't get back into Europe this season. The same as last season, but with more entertainment, I guess would be an acceptable improvement, but won't be enough for me. I want more."
Re: Tim Steidten - Confirmed
"From what is being said there might be at least one more addition to our squad and likely a departure. This makes it difficult to make predictions but I am confident that we will not be relegated. What I am not alone in wanting is a change of attitude, a team set up to go toe to toe with the opposition, a team with a more risk for reward attitude. Last season proved that the cautious approach does two things both encouraging the opposition and enraging us fans. We may not finish as high as last season but if we end up with a positive goal difference and manage to collect a few top six scalps I think most of us will feel more satisfaction than the past, fairly miserable, season."

Looks like a very good window to me. You have to be in the Trump league of weird to describe those coming in as rejects. Every signing any club makes could be described as a reject from the selling club.

"How cringey from Alfs. Steidten is sinply doing the job je was recruited to do. Doesn't make him some genius ti be fawned over. Look at the signings this summer. Foderingham - an old third-choice goalkeeper. Kilman - paid way over the odds for an average, uncapped defence because the manager wanted him. Todibo - Barcelona reject Wan-Bisaka (if he comes in) - Man Utd reject mercenary. Rodriquez - free transfer Real Betis reject Fulkrug- an immobile OAP striker. Dortmund reject. Guillherme - forked out loads for an unproven 18 year old. Summerville is the only decent signing. Some 'genius'."

"You stoned/pissed again Alfs, this could have easily gone on the transfer thread you prat. Net spend so far this summer around 75 mil, so a fair chunk but nothing crazy, and it was well needed. But I agree that Sullivan deserves some credit, he's left it to the bloke to do the job that he hired him for, a job he has done very well this summer now that the cսnt Moyes has gone. That's Moyes, the fella you said you would buy drinks for all night Alfs, if he came into your local :-)"

"Alfs I hope your correct but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Judgment time will be May next year, anything sooner will just be a good sign, so yes, the transfer window is looking that great start, but its only the first step, we need points on the board and wins under the belt next, and some decent Cup runs before getting too carried away But after supporting this club all my life, false dawns have come and gone, let's not forget the hype of the Icelandic's, Eggy and co and how that ended up a dog's dinner. This does feel different but famous last words.......COYI."
Re: Tim Steidten - Confirmed
"The job this man has done is nothing short of outstanding, and he's only just started, now that Moyes is out of his hair. The board get a lot of shit and quite rightly at times, but they also deserve a lot of credit for his appointment along with stumping up the cash to buy the players he wants."

Been successful as he goes over and brings them back instead of waiting at a hotel for spurs to meet them at the airport. It probably makes a difference these prima donnas

It doesn't sit right that our Tim has been downgraded to economy for all these photo takes.
