"Vexed 6:04 Thu Oct 19 Me too. I don't think, generally, people are any more easily led though, I just think they can, almost instantly, find a piece of information or an opinion that matches their belief system or stance and immediately have it as hard fact and anyone who challenges it or even queries it is WRONG. Digital age has made it very hard to apply critical thinking. For that reason, I am out. Digital age"

"Well well well I must say I’m not surprised . An Israeli women who survived the Hamas assault on settlements near the Gaza boundary on the 7 th of October says Israeli civilians were undoubtedly killed by their own security forces . Israeli forces engaged in fierce gun battles with Palestine fighters in kibbutz bi’eri and fired indiscriminately at both fighters and their Israeli prisoners. They eliminated everyone including the hostages she told Israel radio ,there was very heavy crossfire and even tank shelling.44year old mother of 3 YASMIN PORAT said prior to that she and other civilians had been held by the Palestinians for several hours and treated HUMANELY,"
Re: Hamas attack Israel

Re: Hamas attack Israel
Good question gaffer - I believe that these are not normal circumstances and they are operating according to the logic of war and holding out to see how much they can gain. Normal people will of course pay the price.

"From what i understand is because Egypt won't open the border without knowing the Israeli's won't bomb it, keeping their own safe."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"Gaffer, in likelihood because with the agreements in place concerning the crossing lines, whilst Egypt is control of the day to day logistics, Israel is in control of whether it's actually open or not in the first place. Diplomatically/Politically. Egypt relies on a lot of western aid and wouldn't step out of line."
Re: Hamas attack Israel
"Question, why is it dependant upon Isreal allowing the border between Egypt and Gaza to be opened to relief lorries?"

"I always think that economics is the basis of understanding most things. I was wondering how Gaza’s economy had been over the years and wallop, here’s a break down https://adamtooze.substack.com/p/chartbook-245-gaza-beyond-de-development?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=192845&post_id=137905996&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=false&r=5205r&utm_medium=email"

"I'm no fan of Netanyahu, he's an evil cսnt, but Hamas gave him zero choice of what to do here. Either he lets Hamas play the hostage line and build up for the next attack, or he goes all he. He can't sit around and wait to see what they do, so the Palestinian blood is on the hands of Hamas - which I'm sure they don't give a fuck about. They have decided the cause is worth killing and dying for so why would they really care about how many Palestinians die?"

"Zeb true, but didn't the PA cancel what were due to be new elections, sometime not too long ago, because they were concerned Hamas had gained a lot more recent support in the west bank?"
Re: Hamas attack Israel
"""If we are being honest you’d say a vast majority of adult men and women in Gaza and the West Bank who consider themselves Palestinians support Hamas. So stop the madness."" Last election if was evens with Fatah having a slight lead overall not Hamas. Fatah were the clear leaders in the West Bank; Hamas in Gaza."
