why should Israel agree to a ceasefire when Hamas are still holding hostages snatched during a terrorist attack? Hamas have had plenty of time to release them and have so fa refused. If UK citizens were slaughtered and taken hostage by the IRA would you want a ceasefire?

"Sky news reported that Israel rescued one of the hostages this evening. 1 down over 200 to go. Shouldn't people be calling for Hamas to surrender and release the hostages rather then a ceasefire? It will just happen again as Hamas break every single ceasefire that has been put in place... . Israel won’t be able to liberate all hostages… Hamas won’t release all hostages… Meanwhile many more civilians and kids will be killed… A fewI IDF and Hamas fighters will be killed… I don’t see Israel “ winning”… Only best solution is cease fire and negotiate a peaceful solution…

Can’t really see how Israel is going to negotiate a release of the hostages without a humanitarian ceasefire. I am of course assuming there is any interest in getting the hostages released in the Tel Aviv regime.

Collyrob There was already a ceasefire in place and then Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October No point having another one until Hamas is finished or its just delaying the inevitable attacks from them again.
