RLS Yeah I think Muslims and Jews will both be biased in this argument. I think people who are of neither faith can look at what’s going on and make a judgement without bias.

"I know lots of Jewish people who are very clear indeed about how wrong it is to commit the kind of atrocities we are seeing today. They also know that, in the long run, the violence and extremism actually increases the terrorist threat significantly. And it is they who will be defining Israeli politics if there is to be any such thing for future generations to inherit."

"The Netanyahu regime has consistently conducted itself like the Harkonnens in Frank Herbert's Dune, sowing the seeds of terrorism through consistent oppression and brutality. And this is not even the start of the whirlwind they will reap because in Israel, the socially aware, the educated and the more respectful of the principles of democracy are a majority far more potent as a political force than the regime's reactionary religious power base. The fundamentalists have run out of legitimacy and have nothing but more grief to offer. Soon, Israeli secular civil society will make common cause with their equivalent Palestinians in the name of coexistence and cooperation, the basic resources of democracy and freedom from tyranny. And then a healing will become possible as will a great reckoning."

"So. How can (not should, but can) Israel remove the threat Hamas offers? Jaw-jaw? How many (innocents) have to die on each side before it's realised that jaw-jaw isn't working because one side (maybe both) are only giving it lip service? Should Israel simply wag it's state finger at Hamas and say/keep saying ""Right, you can have that one, but...don't do it again""? What will that achieve? Israel clearly don't want to take (back) control of the Gaza Strip - had they been so inclined they would have long done so - bit like Eire doesn't still really want control over Northern Ireland due to the peace and policing issues/costs. Don't forget that it's not Israel repeatedly launching attacks from the (once) safe and sacrosanct civilian areas, so where are the protests against that happening; surely pressure to stop that (single) practice would save far more of the lives of the people the protesters (really just keyboard warriors out for a bit of fresh air) claim to care about. If Hamas themselves help convince the civilians to get out of the fucking way, then they could have ""a proper go"" at Israel - on their own turf/terms, but, no, it seems that they firmly believe that you can win with kids..."

Trouble now is bent Benni is going to overcompensate by going in too hard. He’s lost most of the support he had as the hardliner who would keep Israel safe - so he’s going to go too far.

"Islamist Palestinian Arabs have been massacring Jews since 1929 and rejecting their own state, even a majority partition since 1937. They will never accept a Jewish state of any sort in what they see as their lands. Islam does not allow land to be lost (even though it's only a 1400 year old religion and Jews were there over 2000 years before Islam even existed, and never completely left) It only allows for land to conquered."

"Extremism from both sides has caused this. There can be no ""two state solution"", when one state has wilfully allowed half a million people to live in what would be the other state and encouraged those settlers to do what the hell they want for years, with the backing of an army that receives christ knows how much money from the US, just to satisfy the large percentage of Christian fundamentalists in the USA. The Hamas members who went into Israel and carried out atrocities deserve to go to hell. Likewise so do policemen who chase an innocent seven year old kid to the point that his heart gave up, after literally being scared to death. And the 'soldier'' and his commander and government, who think it's perfectly ok to shoot a female journalist in the head, and know that it will all be whitewashed and nobody will give a shir. They deserve to go to hell also. When it happens little by little as an almost daily occurence nobody cares or is interested, apart from the people it's happening to. Extremism from both sides is why this is happening. It's not right to think that people from different religions there cannot coexist, they have done before, although there have been times of conflict, there have also been times of peace. After 1000'years plus of this, it surely shouldn't be out of the grasp of all those concerned to recognise and encourage what led to the latter."

"Hamas are the 2nd richest terror org in the world. Their leaders are millionaires/ billionaires who live in Qatar, and steal all the aid money to buy weapons and build tunnels. They base themselves amongst civillians and launch attacks from civilian areas, and want casualties as it's great PR against Israel. When they attacked Israel on 7th Oct they knew what the response would be. It wasn't just their militants that carried out the attacks either. There were many civillians and members with knives, machetes etc.., on motorbikes and on foot. There are videos that cleanly prove this. They also have many youth members, 16 & 17 year olds who are trained and active, these are classified as children by the Hamas Health ministry. Their figures will be fantasy, apparently none of the dead are Hamas despite Israel targeting Hamas."

Good to see that H&P is giving as much detail now as he did 5 pages ago of his elaborate plan. Maybe if the civilians ask really really nicely Hamas will surrender and release the kidnapped Israeli's.

Not that you’d know but it’s pretty much anyone who understands that taking out a terrorist organisation with disregard for the cost in civilian lives means becoming a terrorist organisation oneself. Oh and anyone who finds you totally revolting as well.
