"I think with the students this is an extension of the new performative world where everything is performed for your tribe on social media. I'm. to saying they don't believe in their cause but this is about them first and foremost being part of the performance. So I saw this online and it says it very well. ""Elite students of Ivy League schools have glamorized oppression so much that they have now reached role play status to satisfy their fantasies. Here, the students have appropriated the suffering of Gazans and are cosplaying as living through humanitarian crisis. In their American make-believe story where Ivy League infrastructure sets the scene, the students play Gazans and the school administration plays Israel. Israel (the school) is blocking their “basic humanitarian aid” in this play, and if they don’t receive it soon, they will “die of thirst and starvation” (appropriating exact experiences of Gazans). They also destroy upper class buildings and claim them as “liberated” while the students repeat chants in zombie-like chorus, playing the roll of “freedom fighters” destroying Israeli infrastructure and claiming them freed. If I’m alive in a world where people don’t see the levels of perversion in this, I give up. You don’t see this in lower tier schools from kids of lower socio-economic standing because they aren’t plagued with the guilt of privilege that they’re seeking to launder through Middle East role plays of feigned suffering. This is as first world dystopia as it gets. Meanwhile, these Ivy League students who can have much more than a glass of water and as much food as their stomachs can take are commanding the attention of the media and the entire American audience, while actual Gazans who need humanitarian aid are ignored. I still have to pinch myself that people don’t see this"""

Twoleftfeet.. It's for exactly the reason of not giving a shit if people are being killed by authoritarian regimes and the idea of police cracking the heads of protectors that we shouldn't be letting the likes of you vote away our human rights. It's bloody scary. A government with vile intent or who.are corrupt and in the pocket of big powerful corporations could just as easily want our heads cracked if we tried to defend working rights and long fought for freedoms..

"Why do these people in other countries protest about things that have nothing to do with us? pointless. I don't give a shit about some Iranian rap artist who has been sentenced for upsetting the regime, what do the rent a mob in London think Iran will do because a few lefties think it's wrong in the UK? We have enough of our own problems without worrying about other people. Charity begins at home. Good luck to the police in America, let's hope they crack a few heads."

"Ah at Bovine talking about us funding while he actively supports a fascist regime slaughtering its neightbours every day. US isn;t about to drop support for Israel because the reality is that this advances Iran. Its chosen a course of trying to reign Netanyahu in and I would assume see him replaced at the earliest possible opportunity. Benni or course will resist that at every turn and may even continue the killing to stay in power. Congress authorizing the money and arms being conditioned on certain behavior would seem to be an actual policy that could be applied - but, they need to crank up the pressure on Benni to go - nothing gets done until that cսnt moves on."

"Tex, My favourite was when the U.S. airdropped food to help starving Palestinians while in the background smoke from bombs provided by the U.S. to kill Palestinians rose in the air. I also see the U.S. are arresting peaceful protesters at universities because as we all know, the only racism that exists on campuses is antisemitism. In other news, new Israeli settlements in the West Bank since Oct 7 have risen to almost 24,000, which is 24,000 new cases of Israel breaking international law. But again, we live in fucking bizarro world where anything Israel does is in self defence or will be looked at in a never ending investigation. I’m guessing Hamas lived on that land in the West Bank so they had to go. Oh, there’s no Hamas in the West Bank? But it’s for safely, right? Oh, the IDF defend Israeli settlers and arrest Palestinians refusing to leave their own houses? Oh well, don’t look here, Israel are the good guys fighting terrorism on our behalf! Lalalalalalala"

Seems like someone's first true teenage love was stolen in the 60s by a Millwall fan from Stamford Hill and they've still to move on.
