General Election - July 2024

Post twoleftfeet »

This appears to be the rumour on Sky. An easy win for Starmer and some big names losing their seats. The Country needs a change but is it going to get one? The thought of seeing that annoying Beth Rigby for 6 weeks though is a horrifying thought.

"Sir Keir STARMER on immigration: ""If, in short, you want lower migration..... this is what a changed Labour Party will deliver.‚Äù Sir Keir STARMER on brexit: ""I have repeatedly said that there's no case for going back into the EU and that includes the single market and the customs union. We will not be a rule-taker. The rules and laws of this country will be made in Parliament according to the national interest"" There he goes, the ""white middle aged racist, bigoted, uneducated, europhobic"" cսnt, soon to be prime minister. I must say, it's most unlike you to be a monumentally thick cսnt and have absolutely zero clue what you're talking about, Swiss."

"Here’s what I want to know, at what point do these people that we house, feed, clothe, educate and save show a little gratitude? Where are the Muslim clerics speaking out against the Muslim grooming gangs for example. Why aren’t they preaching in their mosques that grooming is bad and needs to stop and any Muslim that does it wil be kicked out of Islam?"

"Giving housing & benefits for no return is what pisses most people off. And surely, if they love this country so much they are prepared already to risk their lives to get here, it's not such a big ask to carry that risk over for a year or two and help prove you love British society and it's way of life."

If they are soldiers for our country we'd need to pay and hoyse them ( only fair since you are happy for them.to.potentially die for us) ....isn't giving the money and housing them what's pissing people off. Mind you in the case of many of the Afghan refugees we already owe them one.. This government wanted to send them.to.Rwanda.....that's gratitude for you..

Darlo Debs 2:12 Mon May 27 Not so far fetched. They'd have to swear to honour king and country and follow orders or be prosecuted and deported; nobody likes a traitor. Probably a better/cheaper option than all this Rwanda bollocks.

"Fifth Column 11:36 Sun May 26 This ludicrous non-policy encapsulates all that is wrong with the current, so-called, government. It smacks of a late night Red Bull and Cocaine fuelled brainstorming session from a bunch of SPADS who have no contact with the real world. Sunk then chucks the grenade into the mix anyway, despite it not having thought through, for just a few hours of press coverage. The moment anyone actually looks into it the whole thing disintegrates. Get these fuckers out."

Replacing Rishi with Starmer is like being a kid in hospital in the 70s and being told the Jimmy Savile visit has been cancelled only to hear the sound of a didgeridoo coming down the corridor. ('Borrowed' from a FB post)

"Fiscal policy in the UK is outrageous. The MP’s truly believe your hard earned wages belong to them. The rate of taxation in the UK is nothing more than grand larceny. Monetary policy is also a main culprit of the divide of the haves and have nots, don’t forget that. Taper in the Bank of Englands authority and reckless abuse of power and you might stand half a chance, until then the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer under either party. You should all be voting for the Libertarian party, if there is one. At some point you have to wake up don’t you?"

"You seem to have trouble inserting your own prejudice into posts. Didn't mention welfare state, just as I didn't mention immigrants or workshy in my previous posts. You can cherry pick data points all you wish, the reality is that it is a very simple point that I'm making... we have high taxes because there's only 33 million people paying tax, of a population of 68 million. And that's only going to get worse as people live longer. I would agree with the amounts wasted in the NHS. An entirely different conversation about the way that's run."
