General Election - July 2024
This appears to be the rumour on Sky. An easy win for Starmer and some big names losing their seats. The Country needs a change but is it going to get one? The thought of seeing that annoying Beth Rigby for 6 weeks though is a horrifying thought.

Re: General Election - July 2024
"Oh snd as for the Immigration act. Decision by the court of appeal overturned it's attempt to make it illegal to seek asylum.here by means such as crossing on boats ""arriving on small boats started to increase, the Crown Prosecution Service began to charge those identified as steering the boats with the offences of ‘illegal entry’ or ‘facilitation’. These are offences within Section 24 and Section 25 of the Immigration Act 1971. However, in 2021, a series of successful appeals overturned these prosecutions. This was on the basis that if the people on a small boat intended to claim asylum at port, there was no breach of immigration law through attempted ‘illegal entry’. The Court of Appeal found that those who arrive by small boat and claim asylum do not enter illegally, as they are granted entry as an asylum."

"Side but what does that gavebto fo with people in London, many if which would have been tourists, speaking in foreign languages on a train. Only the most ignorant of people would be uncomfortable with that.. Surf you need to get your facts straight. Antifa groups existed as far back as the 20s. ""Some Antifa groups date the origins of their movement to fights against European fascists in the 1920s and 1930s. (source (BBC) ...snd you are massive hypocrite. If Corbyn had spread lies about Jews controlling American government / politics you'd have called him.a racist and rightly so. Why is Farage given a let off for saying it?"

"Nope Debs, yet again you are being completely ignorant of what it is like being in London and it’s surrounding counties when there was freedom of movement from the EU. People of any culture don’t flock in vast numbers to where you’ve decided to live so you don’t get transient population problems on the scale of the South."

"Debs is at her very best today Far-right, far-right, far-right - according to her lot, Tony Blair is fucking far-right. Coming in on boats isn't illegal - it factually is. The Immigration Act 1971 makes it a crime. The Nationality and Borders Act 2022 is the most recent iteration of laws which go back decades. Antifa organised the opposition to Mosley at the Battle of Cable Street - Did it fuck. It wouldn't exist for at least 40 more years. She makes this stuff up as she goes along."

"He was going through London ffs course he was going to hear people talking in foreign languages. Many may have been tourists, many may have been Europeans that spoke perfect English but chose to talk in a foreign language to their friends. How would he have known? Clearly if he was in charge it wouldn't be much of a free country would it, if people can't talk.in other languages kn the train. It's ridiculous.. I'm.not from Darlington Sude so your argument us ridiculous. COYI there us plenty of evidence to show that migrants make ys better and not worse off. When we were in the EU for example migrant workers paid more tax than indigenous ones. The government have been in power for 14 years and Cameron he brought about Austerity as a political choice. You cannot blame the migrants our country needed for the shrinking of public services."

"Darlo Debs wrote... ""No.i don't but what you seem.to not want to recognise is that there's of Farage do. "" I am no fanboi of Farage, my only interest in his success is to remove the Tories from power as they are pro immigration. So I am not going to jump to defend his every utterance. But back to the point: High immigration as a solution to offset the economic effects of falling fertility rates. You support that and the inevitable consequence of what that means as fertility rates continue to drop and immigration will need to keep increasing. You are happy for us to continue with that solution?"

"We are living through a cost of living crisis that affects standard rate taxpayers (poor people) like you Debs. We have imported millions of people into this country, yet prices go up, services and housing stock get squeezed and living standards get wiped out. How many immigrants to you consider acceptable? Do you think it's acceptable to import millions of unskilled people from the third world to do unskilled labour?"

"Debs please shut up you are getting hysterical, CURRY is now part of the British culture along with much of the home grown music we listen to having a strong immigrant influences. The word ‘British’ does not mean far right…..you are the typical weak citizen in this country that doesn’t believe being British now represents a whole number of colours and cultures…..you put him straight back into the Victorian era when he simply will not get anywhere having back then as his way forward because too many citizens here do not have that time as their cultural background. He will be stopped if it becomes anything about colour….he just wants what is our current culture preserved and I’m afraid the latest mass incumbents from the East of Europe have offered nothing in that way just their version of things we already have here."

"No.i don't but what you seem.to not want to recognise is that there's of Farage do. He does t care about what you might term 'British culture' however you define it. That us just how he gets the plebs to support him. An example, something really important to tbe British is the NHS. Some on here criticise it but to most British voters our NHS is really valued. He openly said he wanted it replaced with an insurance based system. Is that respecting British cultural values?"

Re: General Election - July 2024
He is now going for Zero.immigration...bit of a change from.his previous stance. What are you on about. He openly stated feeling uncomfortable on trains when there were eastern Europeans in the carriage with him. He can't stand foreigners and stayed in an EU group that openly supported a far right terrorist. If you walk.like a duck etc....
Re: General Election - July 2024
"""Wils welcome to Capitalism"" So by that remark do I assume that is your view? You support that we should be reduced to nothing more than fungible units stripped from our bonds of identity and community that get in the way of increasing GDP? You're happy to let the country's social heritage to be swept away with a tide of ever increasing immigration as fertility rates continue to decline?"

Re: General Election - July 2024
Debs you’ve added your twaddle on the boat thing about Farage I merely stated he’s never gone against immigration as a whole just the two bits that affect this country badly if not controlled. As for your ‘far right’ spew about him…..why would a far right activist in a position of power STOP untold numbers of WHITE Eastern Europeans who are known to have a problem with others skin colours coming into this country freely? Work it out please Deb so you can stop being this pig ignorant person who lives way up in the ‘whitey’ North East….

"""If we 'need' immigration because of a low birthrate you have to ask who the 'we' are in that sentence. I presume by 'we' you mean 'the British'. And presumable that being 'British' for you is simply a matter of documentation. The 'we' is just a collection of fungible units of production' Wils welcome to Capitalism"

I presume by 'we' you mean 'the British'. And presumable that being 'British' for you is simply a matter of documentation. The 'we' is just a collection of fungible units of production that keep the numbers up? And the culture and values that bind people and that are a product of people's heritage providing a sense of belonging and community cohesion plays no part in that 'we'."

"Not actually true Wils. The battle of Cable street was orchestrated by what was known as antifa. It's aim.was confronting fascism and actually originated in Germany I believe, so I don't think anti fascists here were against the Germans wanting to fight fascism. That would have been silly."

"COYI if Corbyn spread the antisemitic conspiracy tropes that Farage did you'd be on here calling him.a racist. As for immigration, the politicians have really hoodwinked you haven't they? We need immigration we need it because of a low birthrate. This has been acknowledged by right wing politicians who try to sell anti immigration ideas to the gullible. We cannot be under populated and over populated at the same time. We need an honest conversation about this, not a nationalistic sleight of hand."
