General Election - July 2024

Post twoleftfeet »

This appears to be the rumour on Sky. An easy win for Starmer and some big names losing their seats. The Country needs a change but is it going to get one? The thought of seeing that annoying Beth Rigby for 6 weeks though is a horrifying thought.

"Debs 7.32. So while we have a shortage of doctors/nurses or any other skill set for whatever reason, it is acceptable to import those skills, denying another country of those resources? And while the Tories withdrew bursaries for nurses, which government abolished student grants and introduced tuition fees, for medical and all other degrees?"

"Funny how it is right wing politicians like Farage and Rees-Mogg who routinely get harassed by agitators in public spaces. Never seems to happen to far left clowns like Corbyn, Abbott and McDonnell. It's almost as though lefties are hateful and intolerant."

"Debs, read/reported fact is you didn't see freedom of movement first hand, you didn't experience it first hand, yet you reckon you have the better view of the situation over someone who did on a daily basis in the most affected by it part of the country and raised their family through it. You really are ignorant Debs and a lowlife for refusing to even acknowledge it was a problem, enough of a problem for the country to go to a referendum about it......luckily you've distanced yourself and now are just left to spout from afar....."

Darlo Debs 7:21 Tue Jun 4 Nope you in the main only give out what you have read as fact. I give out what I have seen at first hand with freedom of movement. Immigration is a fundamental part of British society freedom of movement was an open door to that being over run and taken advantage of governed by a business deal arrangement that only liked our payment into their club.

"Westfield I don't disagree, of course we should be training up.our own Doctors and Nurses where we can However remember it was the Tories over the last 14 years who withdrew bursaries for nurses. Can't see how that would have been especially helpful. They have been restored but it takes a while to train up.. As for Doctors, this government is blaming junior doctors and covid for waiting lists that were well up before Covid and strikes ."

"""COYI there us plenty of evidence to show that migrants make ys better and not worse off."" Debs, have you not considered the negative impact immigration into the UK can have, on the countries who supply those immigrants? For example, a country trains a load of doctors and soon as they are able, those doctors come to the UK, leaving that country worse off. The UK should increase training/wages, so we we don't have skills and labour shortages and don't need to rely on immigrant labour and skills. I'm sure that will come to pass, under the new post 4th July government."

"Fucking Deb and another “poor me” sob story. Just like the bullshit she posted about the first time she moved to Darlington. If Farage position is net zero immigration I say vote for Farage and his party. Although the remainers will be conflicted. Then when in office I’d like to see the intolerant Muslims deported to be replaced by Sikhs, Hindhu’s and peaceful immigrants who are also tolerant of others but not stupid about it. Perhaps Deb should move back to Tower Hamlets a place where they seem to tolerate fools and haters."

"Darlo Debs wrote... ""But mum.looked foreign and we had a Jewish surname so.people with opinions like yours put up a petition against us."" That's an unpleasant story and I am sorry to hear you experienced that. But it does go some way to explaining why your response to mass immigration is such an emotional one and asymmetric in terms of who you empathise with. You're so determined not to give succour to those who were hostile to you that your political views on the subject are quite extreme: limitless immigration and to hell with the consequences of it. It's not ignorant, bigoted or xenophobic to think that your views are hostile and dangerous to the way of life many of us value."

But mum.looked foreign and we had a Jewish surname so.people with opinions like yours put up a petition against us. .

Debs enjoy your hatred through pure ingnorance on levels of ‘foreign presence’ during freedom of movement being in place. Thank fuck I can ignore your view now because of your ignorance to a situation you clearly did not live but have a dangerous view on.
