General Election - July 2024

Post twoleftfeet »

This appears to be the rumour on Sky. An easy win for Starmer and some big names losing their seats. The Country needs a change but is it going to get one? The thought of seeing that annoying Beth Rigby for 6 weeks though is a horrifying thought.

"Calling Reform/Farage racist is just mud slinging from the thug left You can't be a member of Reform if you have any connections to NF/BMP,idiots like Tommy Robinson are not welcome I'm voting Reform even though I'm in a safe Tory seat"

Why doesn’t the media allude to that then?….they would be all over it and he (along with reform) simply wouldn’t be given the platform in this country it being a very multicultural one….

If you support Reform you are supporting a racist ideology.

And yet Farage’s party is ahead of the Tories in many national polls even though it is projected to win no seats. Seems many are so fed up and disillusioned they are ready to vote Reform against their own interests. Is there anyone out there capable of communicating that Farage is a menace above all to his own voters?

Farage is a bad joke and a complete charlatan. He is just a disruptor and not a serious politician with any ideas beyond self promotion and enrichment via dog whistle racism and xenophobia. That is all he has and it serves him well. He has no serious policies beyond that and leaves that to his supporters. Reform have nothing beyond rhetoric and a few cockamamie schemes dreamt up by Richard Tice who has been bankrolling Farage and Reform (which is not political partty btw). He is a less serious person than Boris Johnson which takes quite some doing. He cares for nobody but himself.

"The UK economy is 100% NOT highly dependent on foreign labour, but certain business and organisations that operate within that economy are - purely to maximise profits (which promptly vanish into off-shore accounts to be lost to the UK forever). Those businesses though are NOT the economy - something even an entry-level 6th form political debater will be well aware of. Many of those businesses do, however have a pet politician or minister in their pocket to champion their personal agendas. Additionally, how will the country accommodate all that foreign labour if it has no way of accounting for it - on-demand Portakabins for school & hospital expansion is not the solution in a developed economy. Refurbished old wooden goods wagons is not a solution for passengers on the railways and open-topped Uber 4x4 pick-ups not the solution for on-road public transport demands. It takes decades to build much of the infrastructure to meet anticipated demands, yet some are still advocating an open-door policy at our borders, making calculating such demands all but impossible The country needs to get a grip on managing migration today, both in and out, for the benefit of the whole UK population's future. Brexit offered the opportunity to begin that management process but a bunch of myopic ,entitled cunts spent the last 8 years fucking it up in any way they could."

"Sounds like a case for Basic Universal Income right there. Anybody wanting to earn extra through, say, obtaining a superior degree from a prestigious education establishment is quite free to do so but they'll be paying (significant) tax on that extra to help cover the cost of giving, for no return, BUI to all the workshy lefties and illegals."

"The UK is not like 95% of the rest of the world in one unique respect especially vital to this matter: it is dependent on foreign labour like no other economy. Work visas and permits add an extra level of bureaucratic costs that either don’t stop the worker coming in or make the job they were supposed to do disappear. You end up paying more in taxes for the red tape and, in the worst case, you lose your job as well. Might as well make a list of jobs foreigners do, close the borders and subsidise the Englishman to do the work (pay the difference between what he expects and what he is offered by the employer for the work out of the public purse) - what could possibly go wrong with proper national socialism like that?"

"Perhaps they're all voting for Farage because they've finally woken up to the fact that the current main political parties (ALL if them) are unable to deliver what the country needs. Far from being ""political imbeciles"", they may actually be ahead of the curve on this one and are simply waiting for the ingrained, unthinking political ne'er-changers to catch up and move on."

"Who, exactly, would you be betraying if you voted for a party other than the one you've ""always"" voted for? In what form will that betrayal reveal itself and how will you be able to live with yourself if you don't do ""your bit"" to help get ""your team"" into power*. * - Note that the political party that's best for the country and ""your"" political party are NOT synonymous, however much you really (REALLY) want them to be.."
