This appears to be the rumour on Sky. An easy win for Starmer and some big names losing their seats. The Country needs a change but is it going to get one? The thought of seeing that annoying Beth Rigby for 6 weeks though is a horrifying thought.

There are hundreds - maybe thousands - of (raw) oil variants, each useful in variety of applications after processing. The morons at ""Stop Oil"" (and those with ANY sympathy for them) are likely to be in for a shock when we lose access to the flavour of oil beneath the North Sea, let alone specialist oils from elsewhere. And, electric cars. Don't the batteries make them (much) heavier than their petrol.diesel powered equivalents? Who's going to pay for all the extra maintenance that the roads will need on account of unanticipated extra wear? We moan enough already about the current state of many roads."

Zeb - any growth in global supply will have an impact on price. The UK is only about 1.5% of global oil consumption so +1% of global supply is not immaterial. Add to that a shorter supply chain and less risk - all means a movement in price.

It's part of their election pledge to end new North Sea oil exploration. Kind of thing that happens when a government is elected by a popular mandate in a democracy you know. Might as well try to work out what people's thinking really is about this oil we MUST have according to some.
