Re: Hammer United - Petition - ST Price Rises & Concession Withdrawals
Paul Colborne; Andy Payne and all the others at Hammers united should be massively congratulated and thanked for this climb down. No doubt Baroness Botox and The Poison Dwarf will come up with something else to alienate the fans.
For now, well done you guys.

I was happy to see someone regularly sending black balloons up into the cameras view at Villa Park. Made me smile.

The club have issued the minutes from the 11th September meeting. At least they are acknowledging it I suppose, but the reaction is slow.

They've sent out a survey on ticketing - make sure you let them know what you think!

Sums up the complete disdain for which the club holds its supporters.

Black Bubble protest.
From Chav_Corner
At our opening game against Aston Villa, a small contingent of fans released black balloons, (some of which were supplied by Hammers United, bearing the slogans Stop Exploiting Loyalty and Save Our Concessions) as a way of demonstrating their opposition to the Club’s concession policy and ticket pricing strategy.
Our first away game against Crystal Palace saw many hundreds of black balloons being released as more fans joined in the “Black Bubble Protest”.
On Saturday 31 August, Manchester City will visit the London Stadium for a live televised match, the highlights of which will no doubt feature prominently on MOTD later that evening, with millions of football fans up and down the country tuning in to watch one of the greatest teams ever to play in the Premier League. And of course, Manchester City!
This week social media has been buzzing with West Ham fans sharing their intentions of joining the Black bubble Protest along with where fans can buy their own black balloons to register their opposition to what the Club is doing to its own fans.
Hammers United fully supports the Black Bubble Protest and encourages all West Ham fans to bring some black balloons to the game and release them.
As you will no doubt be aware, Hammers United started the Programme For Food initiative where we asked fans not to buy a match day programme and instead make either a cash or online donation to Irons Supporting Foodbanks (ISFB).
In order to support both the Black Bubble Protest and ISFB, we will have a limited number of printed black balloons which will be handed out on Bridge 1 close to where ISFB are located. These will be given out free to West Ham supporters, but especially to those who throw some spare change into the ISFB buckets!
This Saturday gives West Ham fans the ideal opportunity to let the Club know just what they think of the ticket prices and concessions policy that is so damaging to our oldest, Youngest and disabled supporters and we can do this in the stadium, live on TV and in front of the entire MOTD audience.
There will be plenty of time to do nothing when we’re all priced out of seeing West Ham United play at home – so please, please, please, do something!

"I'm sure that the Bobby Moore story below has been dismissed as fantasy one more than one occasion. That's not to say that Bobby Moore was treated properly by the club overall. He should have been the figurehead / ambassador for the club, maybe in a role similar to Mark Noble now."

Hasn't David Cross spoken against this and been threatened with a retraction of his club privileges?

Re: Hammer United - Petition - ST Price Rises & Concession Withdrawals
"More in the Guardian on this stuff and with a link to the petition! Brilliant work Hammers United Off-field picture Fans have mixed feelings about the summer spending and the current wage bill – Danny Ings is said to earn a weekly six-figure salary – against the backdrop of increased season-ticket prices (above inflation) and the withdrawal of some concessions for disabled fans, under 21s and under 18s, with some forced to move to more inaccessible and undesirable parts of the ground, splitting up families and friends. Supporters are angry and there is a petition opposed to the changes. Hammers United, an independent supporters group, said: “Our concessions are being taken away all for a few hundred thousand pounds a year and yet the owners are gaslighting us that unless fans pay more, the club will not be able to compete. Given that revenue from ticketing represents no more than 17% of all income, these changes represent a huge price rise for fans and a rounding error for the club, which has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.” https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/aug/16/premier-league-2024-25-preview-no-19-west-ham"

Really saddening to read that oioi
Re: Hammer United - Petition - ST Price Rises & Concession Withdrawals
"C&P from Redknapp’s book: This day I was sitting in E block next to Frank’s mum, Hilda, when from behind me I heard, ‘Harry.’ I turned around and it was Bobby. We were about 15 minutes into the game. ‘Fancy a cup of tea at half-time?’ I said, and he gave me the thumbs-up. Next thing I knew, a steward was marching up the steps towards him. ‘Excuse me, Bob’ - he looked almost ashamed - ‘it’s not me, but the secretary wants to know if you’ve got a ticket.’ Bob said he hadn’t. ‘Then I’m afraid I’ve been told to ask you to leave.’ And he went. Bobby Moore. The Bobby Moore. Thrown out of a half-empty stand at West Ham because he didn’t have a ticket. I don’t think he ever went back after that."

"wd40 - But he's an ''ambassador'' and ''works'' for the club. Fella played for us 40 years ago and is getting in for nothing every week, all expenses? Not for me. Let him pay like the people he's supposedly sticking up for. Fat chance of that I suspect, but still. he's put a word in. Great."
Re: Hammer United - Petition - ST Price Rises & Concession Withdrawals
''The West Ham Way ''? Any chance we can stop using that stupid fucking pointless saying on every other thread. Cross - watch most of his games and his part of our history but a free pass rest of his life? does that apply to all every single player who has ever put a hammers shirt on ? 600 ex players sitting in free seats and getting a nice meal thrown in plus a spare ticket for a partner- who runs a business like that. Feel free to donate but do be afraid ask to see the books for all them flags and banners brought .
