"I love Sexy Beast, absolute classic. Savoy Hotel, pissing of rain outside: Teddy 'Where's Don, Gal?' Gal, uncomfortably eating his fry up while trying to be normal 'I told already you Ted, I don't know' Teddy 'tell me again'"

None. I don't believe in films that glorify the mob.

"State of Grace NY Irish mob film about the Westies starring Sean Penn, Ed Harris and a scene stealing performance from Gary Oldman. Maybe Oldman’s best performance. Late 80s / early 90s film - would be in my top 5 gangster movies. Others would be Bronx Tale, Goodfellas, Carlitos Way and Casino."

"I re-watched Gangster Number 1 not so long ago, it's a bit fucking disturbing. Brutal. I saw that they are making yet another Rise of the foot soldier, this time in Ibiza. Get Carter is a classic."

"Once Upon A Time In America for me as well. Watched it 3 times in a row whilst off my head in my irresponsible younger years, when it first came out. Mean Streets, love it, especially the pace of the film and the music goes with it brilliantly. There’s some French gangster/crime films by Jean Pierre Melville that have some brilliant passages in them, (massively ripped off by Tarantino), but as whole films, nowhere near as good as the above. There’s a bank heist one of his, which I’d be amazed if it wasn’t the basis for the start of reservoir dogs."

"Tough to choose the best, been so many especially in the 90,s, off the top of my head, always loved Casino with De Niro and Pesci, also brilliant together in Goodfellas. Scarface and Millars Crossing also top picks in my humble, if you want a British gangster film then not sure you can go past The Long Good Friday."

"Depends on your taste, and do you place a film about the mafia in the gangster category? Once Upon a time is a masterpiece, but for me nothing will top Goodfellas."
