"should look a little more closely, manners - she's a bona fide imbecile who speaks more nonsense than Biden, without the age or senility to blame. Plus, she's been part of the administration that's been openly lying to everyone for 4 years. As we've just seen with the Tories, that doesn't tend to end well, no matter how many times you change leader. The only votes they have left are anti-Trump votes and the sort of simpletons who would vote for one team or another just because its their team."

"Agree this is Trump’s to lose but reckon Harris can turn this around. She has the Dem campaign war chest, and if she can put together a coherent campaign, she can mobilise the Obama vote to secure key states like Georgia and the Carolinas. She won’t get Ohio but she may yet swing Kentucky. It’ll be about who can best mobilise their vote and Trump may have played his hand too soon."

Re: Biden withdraws
"bookies don't seem convinced it will make much difference. it was always a bit of a lose/lose situation for the dems. either stick with a man visibly sundowning or jettison him and open themselves up to a whole new avenue of attack that paints them as duplicitous backstabbers. biden was running on his record and for his part he made some fairly compelling arguments when he could actually get his words out, but that didn't matter. now they're forced to field a not particularly likeable candidate in a straight up popularity contest against a man who made the most of the photo op of the century and has hulk hogan cutting wrestling promos for him while musk fiddles with twitter algorithms to shore up his investment. i think the right candidate would have a puncher's chance, but i think that same candidate would probably rather sit out this one. biden won by a nose last time with a record turnout out in a very politcally charged environment. it was off the back of covid, george floyd, various riots, white power marches etc etc. i can't see the democrats mobilising that sort of sentiment again even without the internal division, while trump's base seems as deranged as ever. still think this one is trump's to lose and anyone who thinks differently is probably operating more on their own internal logic than considering the voting habits of the sort of americans who swing elections."

"First off there is no way Hunter goes to jail, these Dems won’t allow it. Either he gets a slap on the wrist or Kamala pardons him before she moves aside for Trump. I do agree that the Dems won’t have the nerve to put anyone else in to run in place of Kamala unless it’s Michelle Obama. Has anyone listened to cackling Kamala speak ffs. She speaks more gibberish than sleepy Joe ffs. If Trump does survive through the election I expect him to win. Thats a big “IF” though. Gonna be interesting to find out why the Secret Service all of a sudden have turned into the keystone cops. The Dems are a train wreck and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I see Cappy and Texas Iron have both gone very quiet. Knew they would. Anyway Trump in a landslide if he does manage to continue to dodge the Democrats desperate attempts to stay in power, looks like the courts won’t be able to keep him off the ballot."

Re: Biden withdraws
"Many months ago we were chatting to a guy who is a relative of my wife who is not just American, but worked in a senior capacity in Washington and knows most of the people that we hear about on the news. His opinion was that neither Biden nor Trump would stand for election in November. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to question him more closely about why he thought that and he's not been back to the UK since. Well he's 50% of the way there now. We'll have to see about the other bit..."

Re: Biden withdraws
"Biden finally saw, or was forced to see sense. Any rational American would vote for Harris over Trump. However, given about 48% of voters are gun-toting red necks, Harris' path to victory is not at all certain if she becomes the Democratic Party candidate."

That's Trump fucked then. He was probably praying Biden carried on as that was his only chance of winning.

"Except, as you will find, the son is going to gaol whether Biden is president or not because he and the Dems are keen to show they do things according to different standards than Trump. And he is certainly running for president to stay out of the stripy hole. But you know this as well as I do."
