"I'm not so sure you bring in a current Argentine international to sit on the bench. Presumably Guido will start the season as Alvarez is out so will largely depend on how he does and if the team can cope without two defensive midfielders, though I have no doubt that Paqueta can play in that role. Will be interesting if / when everyone is fit as one of Guido / Alvarez and Paqueta will end up on the bench... there is no point bringing in a specialist LW in Summerville and then playing Paqueta there just to shoehorn him into the side. We should get around 20m for Soucek and personally I'd let JWP go if we can get around 20m for him. It won't happen but would be fantastic if we could do a deal with Fenerbache who apparently want Soucek with Ferdi Kadioglu coming to us... you can only ask!"

"I think ultimately Alvarez and Paqueta will sit behind Bowen, Kudus and Summerville. Rodriguez being brought in is to cover Alvarez as he will miss first few games. But that is a blow to JWP and Soucek who probably had their eye on that spot. Keeps them on their toes. Summerville is such a good signing as it now allows Kudus to play central which I think is his ideal position. I think he will either play Mavropanos or Aguerd with Kilman. But looking at squad right now its got good depth and we have loads of options."
