World Cup hero Geoff Hurst hat-trick. 23 bus home (the 3d bus fare home was very soon re-allocated bags of chips). Lost the replay 3-1. Such is the life of an Iron. Happy days!

September 6th 1986 . Lost 5 2 at home to Liverpool. I was a late beginner I was 13 . Even at 35 dalgiish was outstanding. Tore us apart once he came on . Saying that a lot of our players went over the hill during that summer. Parkes pike Devonshire and even the much younger Stewart and orr .

He found me a place at the wall between the corner flag and the goal then he went and stood with his mates behind a barrier in the middle of the South Bank. Great timing because I ended the season at Wembley for the ECWC final."

Bobby Smith Centre Foward John Smith Inside Right Don't know how much he played for Spurs but he was prominent in the West Ham side that won promotion to Division One in 1958 He had 32 appearances and 11 goals that year. A very good player

Far Cough you missed John Smith 120 odd games for the first team - England U23 sold to Spurs in 1960. Played in their double winning team. Died young aged 49
