Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)
I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

Re: Lopetegui
"It's quite clear already from on here and the YT channels etc that there is going to be somewhat of a fan divide in these early days - some will be shrugging their shoulders accepting defeat very easily while still blaming Moyes for most things (including Paqueta still passing to the other side) and giving Lop time no matter what - while others will want to know for example why we finished the game with Soucek, JWP, Ings and Rodriguez all on the pitch and why he started with Coufal and Dinos, when AVB and Todibo had both had a full pre season. Bit of a cliche, but we should know more next week when surely more of the new signings will be starting and they've had another full week of training. Looking forward to a much improved performance at Selhurst Park, before Man City roll into town."

"I’m not moaning about losing I’m moaning about the team selection I’m fully prepared that our new players may take time, but they’re going to take even longer the more this bloke won’t play them"

Re: Lopetegui
"They didn’t lose it cos the manager has no idea who is consistently crap for the club though did they He’s been here for 6 weeks On top of that he should’ve done his research on our players, rewatched games from last season There were 4 players who should not of been playing, Antonio, Soucek, Coufal and Mavropanos All 4 were shit Therefore he got it completely wrong But apparently you can’t say that on a first game So if we lose our first 10 games in a row At what point are we allowed to start counting how many he’s lost? 9, 8, 7?????"
Re: Lopetegui
"""what on earth am I moaning about"" You're moaning about a first-day defeat against a very strong side. Shit happens, maverick old fella, and if recent decades haven't taught you that it's something you'd better get used to pronto."

Re: Lopetegui
"I think Jules played it as he saw it. His subs were different from Moyes and they didnt work. Plenty to think about. Villa looked big, athletic and fast but for a while from 40-60 minutes it felt like we had got a match. In the end the striker we wanted scored the winning goal. A brilliant goal. We need to work hard."
Re: Lopetegui
The team was left in an absolute mess by Moyes both in terms of personal and the tactics that had been drilled into them. If you thought this was going to change overnight then you have little/no football savvy. Football manager cunts.

Re: Lopetegui
"If we'd won 4-0 Lop would now be hailed as the second coming on here (AFTER ONE GAME) so I don't mind it the other way either. Fuck getting into to any analysis, I've just got up for one, but not making any changes at HT is a good point for me. Why??"

"I think everyone is disappointed with the result maverick, but FFS we have played 1 (one) game and a few friendlys and you sound like you have already decided on calling the manager a fraud????? Get a grip for fuck sake! 10 games in and you would have a point, but after ONE game, or are you on a wind up?"

Re: Lopetegu
Alfs - so in 10 games time when we’re in the bottom 5 will I still be on my period? I know this manager is shit He doesn’t know how to distinguish good players from bad Look what he did at Real Madrid I’d love to be wrong but it’s not gonna happen

Re: Lopetegu
"Every game matters Why is this bloke being given free pass in the first one when he didn’t try anything different? We may as well of had Moyes in charge, he knows how to use the players he put out better than him and they gave Villa a far better game 6 months ago at home I wanted Moyes gone, but didn’t want a bloke that was even more negative"

Re: Lopetegu
"Some of you deserve to support this crap team that is West Ham You have no ambition to actually win anything and settle for crap and think that makes you great fans We were gifted a draw at half time We had the superior bench by a mile cos he didn’t play any of the new players But he failed to use it, and left it far too late to have any impact We lost the second half which is even more embarrassing than the first half I wouldn’t have an issue with new players bedding in and maybe not being great at first But he didn’t give any of them a chance"
Re: Lopetegu
Bilic last season at the Boleyn not a foreign manage doing well for us you drama queen? It’s one game. Calm down. I wanted subs at half time but actually making them when we did disrupted a spell when we were on top and Kudus causing real problems down the left. Should have been Fullkrug for Antonio only. That should have happened the minute he blasted that bizarre volley into the stands fir a throw first half.

Re: Lopetegui
I wouldn’t say the new players are here for the money At the moment they’re here to be paid to sit on their arse
