Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)
I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

Re: Lopetegui
I think it's clear that this Lopetegui geezer is a fraud. Look at his career history and you can see that. SACKED by Porto after winning no silverware are a massige spending spree. SACKED by Spain after sneakily signing a contract with Real Madrid behind the Spanish Football Federation's backs. SACKED by Real Madrid after THREE MONTHS following an awful start to the season. SACKED by Sevilla. Bloke has been sacked from every job he has had bar the Wolves job which he walked out off after throwing his toys out of the pram over the transfer budget after less than a season in charge. I have said all along we will be fighting relegation with this fraud at the helm and he will be gone by January.

Re: Lopetegui
"“But my issue with that is if you’re worried about upsetting the older players, why would it not then upset the new players?“ Because essentially, you’d be throwing the newer players under the bus, and putting them under more pressure, than is necessary. You can throw the odd new player in straight away, if you’re desperate, say, if we were in a relegation battle or an injury crisis. We’re not in either of those situations, mate."

Re: Lopetegui
"The bottom line for me here is that the vast majority, if not everyone, was disappointed in the line up yesterday, and yes they ended up being right. You can pick it apart all day, but the one that made no sense to me is why not pick AVB? What's done is done. let's see what happens next week. It's gonna be a long week."
Re: Lopetegui
"Thing is and look it’s one game but no one wanted him, when Moyes was going Lopetegui wasn’t anyone’s 1st choice, he got the job cos he was out of work & cheap. He has been backed so I think it’s fair to expect some decent football & results quickly. Doing himself no favours playing the old guard."

Re: Lopetegui
"At least there’s some logic behind that post with an explanation as to why a lot of the inferior old players got selected But my issue with that is if you’re worried about upsetting the older players, why would it not then upset the new players? You can’t say they’re professionals and understand they can’t just walk into a team Because likewise the older players should be professional and realise they didn’t impress pre season and there’s now a superior players taking their place Works both ways"
Re: Lopetegui
"Honestly it’s like talking to a child. Apparently no logic in pointing out a midfield 3 of Guido, Paqueta and Kudus would be crap out of possession. No logic in pointing out that you can’t just drop 5 new players into a team with 2wks notice."

Re: Lopetegui
"Maverick180 I’m going to copy and paste Cool Hand Luke’s post from the match thread. Read it. He well and truly, hits the nail on the head COOL HAND LUKE 8:42 Sun Aug 18 Re: West Ham vs. Aston Villa - Team and score predictions I think..we need to think a bit more about 'human nature' here. Loppy is maybe having to tread very carefully because a) he needs ALL the players onside, and ditching half the old guard 'instantly' without being seen to give them a chance could create bad blood and negativity in the dressing room, and b) he will know some of those old guard need moving on, and that will be so much harder if they are seen to be 'discarded' right off first base. So... softly softly catchy monkey - pick them, and allow THEM to play themselves out of a starting berth. After which they have no excuses for any childish sulking. In addition, some of those who lose their place can stay as subs off the bench, and some need to be sold away from the club. I'm sure Loppy and his crew will have already decided the eventual ideal outcome for each player, BUT we have to try and achieve that without too much further turmoil. Don't forget - the players are ordinary humans just like the rest of us - they have now seen massive change in a short space of time, they have been tipped out of their comfort zones, they've seen some of their colleagues / buddies leave or retire, and most will have GFs or wives and even kids at school in a familiar, settled environment. All of that before they even kick a ball. The situation is potentially volatile and it has to be managed carefully if we want to step out into the sunshine any time soon. PATIENCE!!"

Re: Lopetegui
"There’s absolutely no logic to anything you say Goose Our midfield was wide open, but would’ve been even worse according to you if we’d of selected different players, based on…your say so If we’d of drawn I wouldn’t have said a bad word about Lopetegui, based on…your say so You can’t play 5 new players in a team…based on your say so You’re a narcissist pal"

Re: Lopetegui
"Our midfield was wide open first half So therefore you‚Äôre admitting Soucek wasn‚Äôt doing his job But you say Paquet?° can‚Äôt do it, even though he does it for Brazil and plays well there"

Re: Lopetegui
"You can’t do it for what reason??? In case you lose My argument is you can’t play Mavropanos, Coufal, Soucek and Antonio because you’ll lose"
Re: Lopetegui
"Our midfield was wide open first half. Sticking Paqueta in there would be suicidal. A midfield 3 of Guido, Paqueta and Kudus would get ruined. Everyone was disappointed with the lineup, but majority of people with half a football brain realised you cannot just drop 5 new players in that side with a couple of weeks together."

"You play Paquet?° there Which is where he plays for Brazil and you play Kudus as the 10, with Summerville on the left"

Re: Lopetegui
"Within 3 minutes we were behind because Soucek can’t pass and gave away a corner and then Antonio let Onana go Is that the players fault? Yes But who’s put them on the pitch What’s the reasoning behind not starting new superior players, surely it must be they might not be up to speed and might make mistakes that cost us? And that way of thinking is fine when you’re at one of the big clubs, you’ve got the luxury of picking from a squad of talented players We don’t have that He’d of only been justified making that team selection if he’d of got a good performance out of those players But he didn’t, and he failed to even spot how poor they was by leaving them on the pitch for so long I couldn’t care less if it’s game 1 or game 20 If he makes bad decisions that costs us points he shouldn’t be given a get out of jail free card"
Re: Lopetegui
"You are moaning about losing though. If we’d drawn that game you wouldn’t have started this thread. Otherwise you’re all over the place saying ‘too early to tell’ is an excuse but you realise it’ll take time. Only Kilman has been here 6 weeks, all the others have come in over the last 2 to 3 weeks. You cannot implement a new system and half a new team in 2 weeks. Grow up."
